Shift in Sound || A Jemi Love Story

Episode 62- First Night.

Demi wakes up that next morning smiling when her eyes fix on her boyfriend having hold of his daughter a tired look on his face. She frowns knowing he probably didn't get as much sleep last night as she did but she doesn't see why, she was only woken a couple of times when Joe was too but that doesn't mean he couldn't have slept between like she had. Joe looks up from Naya giving Demi a small smile when he see's she is awake, Demi holds her arms out so she could hold her daughter once again. Joe stands up laying Naya gently down into Demi's arms then pecking her lips.

"Now sleep, you look shattered." Demi demands Joe just proving her point when he lets out a yawn.

"I'm not tired." Joe defends Demi giving him the look.

"Joe you look like you'll fall to the ground any second sleeping, go home and have a good rest then come back after a shower, I'll be fine." Demi reassures Joe shaking his head.

"I won't be able to drive like this." He says laying down on the couch laying his head on the pillow. Demi smiles as she slowly watches him drift off in a deep sleep. She then looks down at her daughter seeing so many features of her but she can see so much of Joe in her as well. She doesn't regret having a baby with a guy she's barely been with, she loves her so much within less than a day and the little girl has already brought her parents closer together.

"Daddy's a bit crazy but you'll get used to him." Demi whispers in her ear smiling afterwards.

Demi puts a finger on her lips when Rosie bursts in with Selena a couple of hours later. Joe has been in deep sleep the whole time as well as Naya who could wake up any minute demanding to be fed or changed. Demi has also has another sleep. Rosie mimics Demi's action turning to Sel putting her finger on her lip Selena laughs walking in the room.

"How is everything?" Selena questions peering into the plastic crib where Naya is fast asleep, Rosie runs over too being just tall enough to see if she stands on her tip toes.

"Yeah, she was quite good last night, I don't know what Joe was doing but when I woke up this morning he looked shattered." Demi explains helping Rosie up onto the bed wrapping her arm around her as the not so little girl snuggles into her mother.

"Probably didn't sleep well." Selena states Demi nodding her head.

"I just want to go home." Demi admits.

"If nothing went wrong during the night I'm sure they will let you go sometime today." Selena begins. "I know someone else who wants you home." Selena begins Demi looking down at Rosie.

"I missed you and daddy mommy." Rosie states Demi smiling pecking her lips gently.

"I missed you too." Demi says Rosie letting out a grin. She will be going to Kindergarten soon, Selena just brought her over to see her parents and sister before she goes. Selena helps Rosie off the bed making her run over to her sleeping father. She kisses his cheek making Joe smile in his sleep, Selena and Demi smile as she runs back over.

"Give your sister a kiss then we'll go." Selena encourages Rosie running over to the crib this time kissing Naya on the cheek. Demi smiles stroking her hair as she says goodbye. Selena and Rosie soon leave leaving the room quiet, so quiet Demi can hear Joe's steady breathing. It didn't take much longer for the silence to stop a loud cry filling the room. Demi smiles slightly knowing her prediction was right. She was about to lean over to bring Naya up in her arms but was interrupted by Joe speaking.

"I got her." Joe states knowing it will be her diaper needing changing. Demi sits back on the bed as Joe gets up tiredly rubbing his eyes as he makes his way over bringing the newborn up in his arms

"I could get used to seeing that." Demi says Joe flashing her the smile she fell in love with. Joe lays Naya down on the bed to change he diaper pulling her dress back down her body when he finished. Joe sits down on the chair next to Demi's bed Naya slowly falling asleep in her father's arms content with the attention she had just received.

"Sleep well?" Demi questions Joe nodding his head still half asleep.
