“So what are you doing today?” Joe asked Demi as he showered and Demi brushed her teeth.

Demi could see the silhouette through the curtain but her attention was elsewhere on what was happening today at work. She was as nervous as ever as there was a new client coming in today, she’s always nervous on a client’s first day; first impressions have always scared her. A shaky sigh left her lips as she spit the toothpaste out and rinsed the toothpaste off of her toothbrush before placing it back into the holder.

Joe wrapped his arms around her tightly and kissed her cheek; Demi turned around in his arms and looked up at him. She wiped a bead of water away from his forehead and met his eyes.

“It will be fine, you know it will,” he told her.

“I know it’s just I always threat, what if I can’t help everyone that needs the help?” Demi inquired, a frown filling her lips but Joe just pecked the expression away.

“Don’t think like that, negativity doesn’t do any good,” Joe lectured her.

“Daddy, I need help!” Rosabella called, “the machine won’t work.”

“I’ll see you tonight babe, I’ll deal with dinner okay,” he offered and Demi nodded before he moved out of the room and quickly threw his clothes on ready to help his daughter.

“What to do?” Demi sighed but left the bathroom, slipping her heals on along the way.

“It will be fine,” she reassured herself.

“That was so bad,” Demi groaned, collapsing in a chair next to Sel in the office.

Sel kept her eyes on the screen but answered her best friend back, “Why, what happened?”

“He was just so stubborn,” Demi explained, “He would answer so briefly and the information that I did receive from him wasn’t brilliant in the first place, I barely know anything about him.”

“Demi,” now her Sel turned to her best friend, knowing that she had serious doubts about her skills, “You helped Joe, he was absolutely nuts, at least that client was willing to step into the room first time, it will just take a while for him to get used to it, you watch next week will be better with him, so much better.”

“How do you stay so positive?” Demi inquired.

“It’s the only thing I could do when Joe was insane, I don’t know how long Nick and I would have lasted if we were negative about it all,” Sel explained and Demi just nodded.

“Mommy!” Rosabella called out and wrapped her arms around her mother’s leg.

Joe entered through the door and pecked his girlfriend’s lips, a couple of boxes of pizza in his hands.

“Is this what you meant when you said that you would deal with dinner?” Demi raised an eyebrow expertly and Joe nodded his head with a broad smirk on his lips.

“Coming Sel?” Joe asked over his shoulder and she nodded.

She hit send to an email before shutting down her laptop and grabbing her bag. On the way out Sel locked up and they all headed towards the car, chatting about their days, Rosabella staring up at her mother the whole way there. When she was older, Rosabella had already decided she wanted to be just like her Mom.
