Shift in Sound || A Jemi Love Story

Episode 69- Hospital.

Demi grabs a ticket from the slot machine rushing back to her car holding it up to the traffic warden so he knows that she has paid, it's not his job to say that she should move her car. She rambles into the car placing the ticket on the dash board before darting into the hospital and up to the reception desk taking a deep breath before speaking.

"I got a call, my boyfriend was shot?" Demi questions the receptionist checking the computer on her left for anyone who has come in with that description.

"The police officer?" The receptionist questions Demi nodding her head. "I'll write down directions for you." Demi thanks her as she takes the paper from her hands after she had written it. Demi follows the directions finding herself outside a empty room her eyes watering knowing that he could have gone, her boyfriend could have died leaving her alone to look after their two daughters. She feels a hand on her back making her jump slightly.

"Sorry for scaring you, are you related to Joseph?" The doctor questions.

"Well I'm his girlfriend, is he okay? Demi questions doctor Jones nodding his head.

"He's just in surgery to lodge the bullet out of his leg." He reassures Demi sighing of relief, it was only in his leg and missed any main arteries. The problem with Demi is she always thinks the worst out of the situation, she believed he died when he would have been fine just like he is.

"Good." Demi says taking a well needed seat on the chairs.

"He'll be in surgery and then advised to rest so it's up to you if you want to see him when he's out or just go home and come back tomorrow." He states Demi nodding her head thanking him before deciding to get back home to her daughter in case she needs feeding which she knew will be soon.

Demi pulls up into the drive taking a deep breath before climbing out her car locking it behind her. She wonders across the path into the house closing the door behind her smiling slightly when she hears how quiet the house is. She makes her way into the living room where she sees Zac watching TV peacefully so he doesn't wake up Naya.

"Hey everything okay?" Zac questions Demi nodding her head.

"He was only shot in the leg, they basically just need to get the bullet out and he'll be fine," Demi says slumping down on the couch beside him. She is not looking forward to telling Joe her ex fiancé is back but she already knows that he won't make a big deal out of it. She's already reassured him that she is his for as long as he wants her Joe reassuring back that he'll want her around for the rest of their life "How was Naya?" Demi questions.

"She was a angel, not one peak out of her." Zac says smiling.

"Aw, she'll want feeding soon, I've learnt her schedule by now." Demi observes.

"I bet your great with her." Zac admits Demi smiling wider, Joe tells her all the time how good she is around children.

"Joe tells me all the time I am." Demi confesses back.

"He better be treating you right or I'll be after him." Zac warns Demi giggling, Zac missed seeing her smile and hearing her laugh but she's taken now as well as him. He'll learn to become friends with her now they have both moved on.

"He is trust me, I can really see me marrying him." Demi confesses again.

"How long you been with him?" Zac questions Demi sighing at the thought of exactly how long, she can't believe it's only been a year with how much she is in love with him. It feels like ten years especially with how much she has gotten to know him.

"Just under a year, I got pregnant not long after we were together." Demi explains.

"I'm happy that your happy." Zac says smiling when Demi gives him a hug. They were disturbed by Naya waking up starting to cry. Demi laughs a little bit standing up straight again making her way over to the crib bringing her little girl up in her arms.

My sister said she might write one when she gets home from Chruch but if not I'll update in morning since I'm not at college.
