Episode 38- War

“Daddy, I want cake!” Rosie demanded, squirming as Joe washed the mood away from his daughter.

After beginning the water fight and also with the hose, all three of them were covered in a thick coat of mud and apparently Rosabella wasn’t a fan of being sprayed with a hose.

“I want cake what?” Demi asked her, raising her arms as Joe sprayed her.

“Please,” she let out a dramatic sigh and Joe chuckled before heading into the kitchen.

            They opened the door to the fridge and filled the kitchen counters with ingredients they need to bake a cake, and something other supplies that Joe thought were necessary but because he was a man, he was pretty clueless on how to bake a cake.

“Thank you,” Demi smiled as Joe handed her the big red bowl.

“So where do we start?” Joe asked Demi who was closest to the magazine.

“With the butter,” Demi answered as she read the article from the cooking magazine.

Joe rummaged around on the counters until he came across a single block of butter. Afterwards he dropped the butter onto the table in front of Demi. She watched him look over the ingredients as he muttered how many there were and questioned what we were going to do.

“How many cakes are we trying to make?” he asked, “Most of this goes out of date soon we need-“

“We need to get rid of those supplies,” Demi continued on for him, “We need to get rid of...”

She trailed of as her eyes landed on a bag of flour; she took it and raised one eyebrow at Joe. He starred at her blankly before he realised what she was planning on doing.

“No babe, you’re not going to…Are you…? Just…No!”

Before Joe could say the end of his thought, a handful of the white powder had been launched at him. With a soft shriek, Joe splitters as the flour landed on his face. His face looked mad, no it looked furious but Demi knew he was only joking; he likes to have a laugh like that. Joe guessed that we might as well have fun well they can.  

“You,” he said totally surprised, his mouth and nose completely covered in the white powder, “Did you just throw flour at your boyfriend? Now this is war!”

He took the other bag of flour and emptied its contents on top of Demi’s head. All she could think about was what this would do to her hair, all covered in flour.

All Joe said was, “oops.”

            Then a mischievous grin crept across his face and replaced his original expression. He looked evil, but he was also too cute to be evil. He told Demi to choose my weapon wisely. Demi slowly started to scan the contents of the table; flour, butter, chocolate, eggs, milk…wait, eggs. She took the tray of eggs and slammed them all against the side of Joe’s head. Joe watched as the innards of the egg trickled down his face, past his eyes and onto his lips, she giggled at him.

“I don’t think we’re making cake anymore, we ran out of eggs,” Demi started.

            Joe laughed and kissed her and the only thought that ran through her head was, now this tastes better then cake. She pulled away; she definitely needed to sort herself out.

“I think I will take a shower and then watch a film,” she started, “Do you care to join me?”

“For the shower or the film?” he responded.

“Both,” she answered smirking.

“Really?” he doubted.

“No off course not Joseph!”

            He fake pouted like Rosabella does and than all they heard was a tut. Both of them turned to see Rosabella with her hands on her hips, staring at her parents with a disappointed look in her eyes.

“Mummy, daddy, out side now!” She demanded, grabbing the towels from the counters which she was only able to reach.

            Demi gave Joe a look before bursting into laughter at her daughter and heading outside with Joe on her trail.
