Episode 44- New Job

Still can't believe I'm seeing Demi live, she never comes to the UK!

It was a couple of weeks later after the ordeal with Rosabella that Joe was getting ready for his first job at the police station. He went to go see if a spot was open which there was, he is now getting ready and feeling the nerves. Wearing the uniform for the first time really hit him hard knowing that he will be now saving life's and keeping criminals off the street . He doesn't want to spoil his town because he does something wrong. Demi wonders into the room seeing him buttoning up his shirt whish he has a bullet proof vest on underneath, she smiles slightly when she sees his hands shaking so much it is taking him twice as long to button the shirt up. Demi lets out a breath before walking over batting his hands away from the shirt helping him to the shirt up.

"Nervous?" Demi questions making Joe nod his head gently.

"Yeah I am." Joe states leaning in giving her a kiss on the forehead.

"It's normal." Demi reassures Joe shaking his head gently agreeing with her, he just can't believe how much he had grown up so quickly. This time last year he was going crazy from separation anxiety, Nick and Sel would never have guessed a year later he would be getting ready for his first day at work. It really feels like their child is going to school.

"I know, you'll be fine with Rosie right?" Joe questions Demi nodding her head as she finishes the last couple of buttons off.

"I had her for four years without you remember, I'll be fine." Demi reassures again leaning up pecking his lips but that wasn't enough for him. Joe crashes his lips onto Demi's making Demi smile through the kiss knotting her hands up in his hair.

"You always know what to say." Joe mumbles against her lips making her smile a little bit more. They have their little moment before they both wonder down the stairs.

"Give daddy a hug and kiss before he has to go to work." Demi encourages as they walk into the living room where Rosie is watching TV with Selena who is feeding Carter. Demi lets go of Joe's hands as Rosie runs over. She gives him a kiss allowing him to gather her up into his arms, she smiles giving him another kiss.

"Thank you baby girl." Joe says.

"Daddy lock up nasty people." Rosie says Joe nodding his head gently.

"Maybe not today but one day." Joe says setting her back down on the floor. He leans over giving Demi a quick peck on the lips saying his goodbyes again before heading out the door ready to do something he thinks he will really enjoy.

Demi wonders into work with Sel a hour or two later unlocking the door to her office walking in dumping her back down on the floor besides her desk. It doesn't take long for Selena to walk through with a coffee in her hand, he places it down on a coaster which was laying on the desk Demi thanking her as she pulls her hand away.

"I don't know whether I should even be here." Demi states through a sigh.

"What do you mean?" Selena questions taking a seat on the couch opposite her desk.

"Rosie has just been diagnosed with diabetes,  one of her parents should be there with her." Demi explains not helping but worry. She knows her mom does an excellent job in looking after her daughter but she doesn't know the first thing about a diabetic.

"I'm sure she'll be fine Dem, your mom will be at the computer now researching about how it all works." Selena reassures.

"At least Carter is here with you." She mumbles making Selena giggle.

"Hey he's only a couple of weeks old!" Selena defends Demi laughing this time. "Anyway you have James first, his mom said he had something to tell you over the phone.

"Such fun!" Demi says sarcastically Selena laughs beginning to walk out the room ready to book anyone in.
