Shift in Sound || A Jemi Love Story

Episode 64- The truth.

Joe was at work that Monday morning while Rosie was at Kindergarten, Demi isn't due to get back to work for another month or two Naya coming with her. Demi had promised her mother that she would go over with Naya and spend some time over there. Demi straps Naya in the car seat placing it on the stand in her car. She soon sets off for the short distance to her mother's house.

          Dianna kisses Demi's cheek just after she opens the door taking the car seat gently from her hands so she could have a look at her Granddaughter. They make their way into the living room Dianna reaching into the car seat bringing out the little girl who is awake but content with the feed she had just had before she left.

"How have you and Joe been coping then?" Dianna questions.

"I've been fine but Joe seems to constantly be tired." Demi explains.

"He's the one who has had to run around doing everything when you had a huge bump, he'll just need to catch up with his sleep and he'll be fine." Dianna explains seeing the worry on Demi's face that something could be wrong with her boyfriend.

"I'm just a worrier I guess." Demi admits a small smile on her face.

"Will there be a wedding anytime soon?" Dianna questions making Demi blush a deep red colour.

"Mom! It's been less than a year." Demi says realising she did have a baby with him but that was a mistake, one of the best mistakes that had ever happened to her.

"Nearly a year!" She argues back. "You know I've never seen you so happy with a guy, even Zac." Dianna admits Demi's cheeks turning a deeper shade of red that her mother can't help but laugh at. She likes embarrassing her daughter.

"I really love him, has it really nearly been a year?" Demi questions counting back realising it has, this time next month it would have been. It's just gone by so quick to Demi, even the pregnancy which she thought would take ages to end.

"I've already offered to Joe to babysit the girls." Dianna admits.

"He's planning something already?" Demi question Dianna shrugging smiling when she sees Naya drift off to sleep. She lays her gently back in the car seat so she won't be woken. "Oh I've been meaning to tell you, I've been visiting dad in jail." Demi explains Dianna dropping her knitting in her lap worrying Demi slightly.

"Why?" She questions picking it up as if nothing was wrong when in fact there was a lot more to it than Demi knew about.

"Um the officers requested he see a physiatrist so I went in not knowing it was him, I've been going since just to visit more than anything." Demi reveals Dianna sighing.

"There's something you don't know about him you should probably know now before anything else happens," Dianna begins Demi nodding her head letting her know that she's ready to hear whatever her mother will about to say. "The reason we got a divorce just before you were born wasn't because we were fighting, it was because he was abusive."

"W-What?" Demi stammers not quite believing what she is hearing. She doesn't want to believe that the sweet man which was in that room was abusive towards her and her mother.

"He was an alcoholic and when he was drunk he would lash to us to, that's part of his sentence too not just the murder." She confessed Demi sighing as rage fills her body head to toe, she doesn't want to see him ever again and if she would ever come across his face again she would have some words to say to him.

"I won't see him again, I'll get another physiatrist to go over." Demi states placing her hands in her lap. She's thankful she had found a guy which she was certain wouldn't drink and become abusive, she's thankful for Joe, he's the one person she will never expect to change and if he does into a even better person than he already is.

"Thank you, I just want you and my Granddaughters to be safe." Dianna explains giving Demi a hug.

I have no idea how long this story will be haha! It could end soon but it depends if I have any ideas on what could happen which I think I do :P
