Episode 16- Close but not Close enough

Time again for Sel to try and coax Joe into actually making it into the building where Demi will hopefully bring back the person she once knew and loved. This time Nick has taken the day off to assist Sel into trying to keep Joe at least in sight even if he won't make it in the room. They would hate if he would get even more hurt then the other day. Luckily after the runaway yesterday he came home early without any battle wounds. Sel pushes the door open holding tighter onto Joe's hand as Nick is behind him so if he decided to run he'd just run straight into his chest.

"You okay Joe?" Nick questions but he doesn't get an answer.  

"You sit down with him, I'll book him in." Sel states as they make their way up to the top, Nick grabs Joe's wrist walking over to the seating area where they both take a seat Joe staring down at the floor while he plays with his fingers and Nick looking around at his surroundings. 

Demi is sat in her office after hearing the beep that Joe had actually arrived this time which surprises her a little bit. She takes a deep breath hoping for it to calm down her nerves at least a little bit. It doesn't. She can't help but be nervous, she had come quite close to Selena over the last week or two and would hate it if she has to admit to her that she can't help her friend anymore and that how he is acting is permanent. She climbs off her chair heading towards the door placing her hand on the doorknob taking a deep breath before turning it and opening it. Her eyes land on two boys, one in which looks oddly familiar and the other one who she knew in a instant is somehow related to Rosabella. She gulps before speaking.

"Joe Jonas?" She says as clearly as she could to hide her nerves. Next thing she knew he was on his feet and out the door again.

"I'll go." Nick says through sigh rushing out the room in attempt to catch up with his older brother who desperately needs these sessions. Demi looks at Sel who mouths sorry, Demi gives her a warm smile showing her that it's fine. He seemed to have got closer and closer everytime so both Demi and Sel are hoping next time he will actually make it into the room. Demi wonders back through into her office letting the door close behind her. She takes a seat checking her next appointment isn't until another hour. She then realises she has her hospital appointment just to make sure everything is okay with the baby. She's so looking forward to becoming a mom, she's always loved kids and always wanted her own. She's sure Zac is the person she wants to marry and have her kids with.

Demi wonders into the hospital her hand securely in Zac's hand. She can't help but smile when she sees the words 'Maternity' on the sign. They find themselves in the waiting room after booking in preparing themselves for what is about to come. Zac is as excited about being a dad as Demi is a mom, he knows she will make a great mom when their little one arrives and can't wait to see her with his son or daughter.

"Demi Lovato," They hear looking up seeing a nurse. They both follow the nurse into the room where everything will happen Demi climbing up on the bed like asked to. "So Demi you think your pregnant?" She questions getting Demi's records up on her computer screen.

"Well I missed my period by a couple of weeks and when I took a test it came back positive." Demi explains the nurse nodding her head.

"We will just double check that, we'll have to go up though since it's so early in the pregnancy." The doctor explains making Demi even more nervous. Demi changes into a hospital gown so it is easier for the nurse to get the baby up and they begin going through the whole procedure to get the baby up only when the it comes on the nurse notices nothing. She sighs knowing instantly what's happened looking at the couple who so much wanted this baby.

"W-why isn't there a baby?" Demi questions.

"I'm afraid you've had a phantom pregnancy." The nurse explains seeing the hurt on their faces.
