Joe clambered out of his car and entered into the prison where he was searched and sent through the bars as security precautions. Even though he was a police man he still had to follow the security procedures and fully understood this. Once he was told he had the all clear he entered into the interrogation room where Demi had been meeting her dad and where he was faced against John Lovato now. Neither of them said anything as Joe took a seat across from John and he wasn't quite sure where to start.

"Why did you do it?" Joe soon though of the perfect question to ask and John raised his head quickly to meet Joe's gaze.

"I was stupid, I was so sick of the same thing and I believed that alcohol would help to solve all of those issues but it didn't. And the alcohol took hold of me and I did some real stupid things like be an abusive person. I swore when Demi was born that I wouldn't be that kind of person but I was, I can't believe that I was stupid," He wiped a tear that was falling down his cheek and Joe leant back in his chair, "But I swear that I'm innocent about the murder I was a witness not the murderer, you have to believe me."

"But why should I?" Joe inquired, "Why should I believe you when you knew what you did but you didn't tell me nor Demi. You lead her into a false sense of security by lying to her but now she hates your guts."

"I didn't know what she knew," John muttered, "I just need help to get out of here. I'm purely in on a murder basis now and if someone can prove that I'm innocent than I can right my wrongs, I can't live, I can't be sane until Demi and Dianna understand and forgive me."

Joe took the glass of water that was in front of him and gulped it at once, he wasn't sure what to do. His conscience was telling him that he should try to help John but the part that was completely and utterly in love with Demi was practically screaming at him to stop and get out whilst he can and before it was too late. Joe knew he had to do what was right and sighed before sitting forward in the chair.

"I'll look into it but understand this, even if I manage to get you out of here which I might not be able to do than I can't guarantee that Demi and Dianna will forgive you, understand?" Joe questioned to his girlfriends father and he nodded quickly.

They quickly shook hands before Joe moved out of the building and into his car. He sighed and rested his head against the steering wheel as the rain poured down heavily.

"I have to keep this a secret," he whispered to himself, "Demi can't know about this."

"Hello," Demi smiled, pecking her boyfriend lightly on his soft lips, "Finish your police business at the prison?"

"Yeah, it's all sorted," Joe smiled back and headed over to the fridge where he produced a bottle of water chilled just how he likes it.

"I was just about to go take Misty for a walk, are you going to start dinner or should I pick up take away?" Demi inquired.

"Err sure, pizza?" Joe suggested and Demi nodded before pecking his lips again and moving out of the back door with Misty.

Rosie appeared at the bottom of the stairs and hugged her dad when she saw him.

"Have you been a good big sister?" Joe asked and Rosie nodded eagerly.

"Are you alright Daddy, you look sad," Rosie frowned at her dad's expression but he shot her a smile which she matched.

"I'm fine," he reassured his daughter.

But if he was honest, he wasn't. How long could he lie to Demi for? How long could he lie to his true love for?
