Shift in Sound || A Jemi Love Story

Episode 22- Determination.

Demi walks into her room as Joe walks past her closing the door behind him as he actually takes a seat on a proper chair this time. She takes her seat down in her desk looking at him not helping but notice the black eye and the swollen lip on his face. She can't help but sigh knowing that something went off wondering whether it was because of one of the suggestions she had given Nick and Sel to try. She's hoping that they did what she suggested anyway.

"How did you manage to get into a fight?" Demi questions, he just shrugs not really in the mood to talk to anyone. "Are you okay though?"

"I'm fine." Joe says.

"What did you do last night then?" Demi questions Joe shrugging making her sigh. "I can't help you if you'll barely talk to me you know."

"Don't then." Joe says before leaving the room walking straight past his brother and best friend. They can't help but sigh as he leaves. They were beginning to think that they were getting somewhere with him but now it just seems to have gotten downhill. This has been the most socialisation he has had with anyone since he started acting like this and that's why they think he is improving more than anything. They look over at the door of Demi's room seeing her stood there motioning them to come through. They do taking a seat on the chairs set out. Demi begins explaining what happened during the very short time he was in the room.

"I don't blame you." Selena admits Nick nodding in agreement.

"What happened yesterday then?" Demi questions curious on how he got those wounds.

"We took him to the gym and he started out hitting the punching bag gently so we were just encouraging him to hit it harder. He must have got a bit frustrated, hit the bag really hard and ran out angry. Next thing we knew he was at the door with two police officers, they said that he had been in a bar fight." Nick explains.

"They said if we don't get him in a right state of mind soon they will take him away and probably put him into a mental institute." Selena explains.

"I won't let that happen, I promise." Demi reassures the determination clear in her tone. She doesn't know why but she has a close connection with this case and will do anything in her power to keep Joe with the people who love him so much and seem to be the only ones who haven't given up on him. That makes Nick and Sel happy enough to leave with a smile on their face as they go out to try and find Joe before he gets into more trouble.

 

Demi and Zac were in the hospital waiting room Demi sat up on Zac's lap as his arms make their way around her waist. They are waiting to hear the news on why they don't seem to be able to conceive a baby. Demi can't help but think it's her, she can't think of any reason why it would be but sometime women are just not meant to have their own baby.

"You want to come through Zac and Demi?" They hear looking up seeing the nurse that they had just before. They follow her into the room sitting down in the seats ready to hear the news. The nurse looks over at Zac. "I'm afraid you have the problem." She states devastating him. She begins explaining details about what is wrong with his body for him not to reproduce any children.

"So what options do we have now for a baby?" Demi questions.

 

"I'm afraid you guys won't be able to have any together, you Demi could have a sperm donor I suppose the guy could have around the same features as Zac or there is adoption. It's all entirely up to you two to decide." She suggests and they nod. They begin asking all the questions they need to understand what they're going through before they  leave the room hand in hand. Demi is again determined to make this work for the two of them even if the baby they have isn't biologically theirs. After all, all they want is a baby to spoil and bring up as their own. They want to see a child they love grow up into a independent person.
