Y/N barged through the doors. The game had already started. There was a huge horde of fangirls sitting in the first two rows, screaming their longs out for satisfaction, chanting, and holding up signs she didn't want to know what was written on. She quietly made her way to the back row, the highest row in the wide gymnasium. She heard the squelch and squeaks of shoes as the basketball players passed the ball to one another and hollered incomprehensible things to each other. Y/N took out her phone and began recording. This was her first time to a basketball game, and she would never know if she could go to one again because of her studies.

She sighed as she watched, still keeping her phone lifted high to record and treasure. Then she detected Juyeon who had invited- no, FORCED, Y/N to come here. He was sweating a lot, and seemed hot in the stuffy room. She grimly observed him. He was muscular, she couldn't lie, but she was worried about how long his strength could last. She heard that Juyeon would practice for hours and hours a day and never get to rest during the real games. But that hard work and diligence he put into basketball is probably what named him to be the ace of his team.

Y/N smiled softly. He didn't seem to notice she was there until it was half time, which meant all the players would chug down water, wipe off their sweat with dirty rags, and flex for the ladies. She rolled her eyes, but was somewhat relieved that Juyeon wasn't the type of person to go around showing off and bragging about how brawny he was to random girls. But he did it to her, even though she constantly rejected him. She giggled at the memories of how he had bothered her and tried to impress her by flexing and boasting about how long he works out a day. Maybe she was falling for him.

Then she felt eyes on her and she looked up, puzzled. There he was. Juyeon was standing on his tippy toes and waving to Y/N. She jerked a thumb to herself. "Me?" She mouthed. He nodded and flashed a big smile that seemed to melt her heart. The girls in front were fussing about who he was waving to, arguing that it was them and not someone else. He asked something to the coach and the coach hesitantly nodded, flicking his hands towards Juyeon, signifying something. She craned her neck forward, curious. Then she enlarged her eyes in surprise as she watched him bound up the steps and to Y/N.

"You came! I was sad thinking you wouldn't. Coach is only giving me a minute to talk to you," Juyeon spoke in his gentle voice of his. Y/N glanced down at the fangirls, who were glaring at her and hitting each other, signaling to the two sitting next to each other during the brief break. "Aren't you hot?" Y/N ignored Juyeon and began touching his face, feeling sweat trickle down his cheek. His cheeks suddenly turned a red shade. "You're burning," she murmured. She turned off her phone and slipped out a handkerchief of hers she kept in her bag. She offered it to him. "Here. Use it."

"Uh... You see, my, uh, hands hurt. Can you do it for me? Juyeon had pauses in the middle of his sentence. Y/N was too dense to know it was an excuse for her to get closer to him and touch his face. "Oh, really?" She scrunched up her nose. She was suspicious, but decided to brush the thought off. She grabbed the blue handkerchief and leaned forward, wiping off all the glistening beads of sweat she could find. "Oh yeah! I have a small fan you can use," she took off her hands from his face and he was visibly disappointed, but she didn't seem to even take notice. Y/N fished out a mini fan for him and turned it on by pressing a button, placing it in front of his face so he could cool off.

"Thanks, Y/N. Because you're here, I think I can do better," Juyeon winked before shifting back and standing, jogging down the steps and back to resume to game. The fangirls from the front scrambled up and fanned around her. "Hey. What's your relationship with Juyeon-Oppa?" One snapped. "Back off, 'cause he's ours," Another demanded. Y/N didn't even blink once through all the hate she received. "How about you do something better with your shabby, low lives instead of drooling over someone that won't even pay attention to you?" She folded her hands neatly over her lap.

She heard the whistle and the sound of the ball tapping on the ground and the familiar sound of feet shuffling. The fangirls were fuming. "Look, I don't even know who any of you are. If you want to swoon over Juyeon like that, do it somewhere better suited for you, like maybe the trashcan?" She suggested nonchalantly, flipping her hair over her shoulders. "Hah! You're very funny," one of the girls growled, grabbing her hair and pulling it everywhere. The other girls joined in, trying to rip out all of Y/N's hair.

Juyeon saw this. He stopped in his tracks, the ball falling from his hands. The whistle blowed. "Juyeon! What are you doing right now?!" His coach bellowed angrily. Juyeon ignored him and dashed up the stairs, curling his hands into fists. "Get off of Y/N right now!" He yelled in a loud voice that no one would expect him to use. Even Y/N flinched at his tone. "Get your hands off of her at this instant, or I will never forgive any of you," he pointed a shaky finger to all of them, who removed their hands from her hair. One stuttered, "I-It wasn't like that, Oppa."

"Oppa? Oppa my a$$. You know nothing about me, so stop pretending you do. You're nothing but filth and contamination to this basketball game, and you're causing trouble to Y/N right now! You should leave. No. You NEED to leave," Juyeon snarled, pointed to the door firmly. The girls began crying and running out of the exit. You could hear them bawling and cursing as they left. It satisfied him. Then he approached Y/N, who was slouched, her hair a tangled mess. Thankfully she wasn't crying. He wouldn't know what to do if she was.

"Y/N..." That was all he said before he hugged her tightly. Y/N then began tearing up as she felt him embrace her. When had she felt this warmth? Five years ago when her mother hugged her for being a good student? She had missed it. That's why she began studying so much. But now that Juyeon was giving her this comfort, she felt that all her worries had gone. "Y/N? Y-Y/N?" He sputtered, becoming flustered that she began to cry. Was hugging her wrong? He pulled away from her, but Y/N wrapped her arms around his waist, burying her face into his chest.

He laughed and hugged her back, patting her. "Sorry," he said quietly. Y/N had stopped crying and was now only sniffling, her nose red. "That you smell of sweat?" She joked in a soft voice. "No," he smiled. "Because I put you in pain like this." "You have nothing to be sorry for. It's those rascals' faults. Nothing to do with you."

She then pulled away from the long and reassuring embrace and tightly held his hands. She had this smile on her face she didn't have in a while. It pleased Juyeon that he could see her like this. Y/N rubbed his palm with her thumb. "Everyone!" She suddenly announced. She stood up, leaving Juyeon dumbfounded and bewildered.

"From this day on, I'm going to date Lee Juyeon," she declared. Juyeon's eyes rounded. His face flushed red. "H-huh?"
