"Mom?!!" Y/N leaped to her feet, her hands covering her mouth as her mom stomped towards her daughter and Sunwoo, rage prominent in her eyes. And that fiery didn't seem to want to go away anytime soon. "How'd you find us? I mean, me?" She stumbled over her words. She was too shocked to be in her right mind at the moment. Sunwoo, flustered at the sudden appearance of Y/N's mom, quickly stood up and brushed off the dirt from his clothes and squeezed out the water from his uniform. "This is why I installed a tracking device on your phone! You're now running away from home with... With... Him!" The adult pointed a shaking finger to Sunwoo.

"Mom! He has nothing to do with this! Leave him out of it!" Y/N hopped to Sunwoo's defense, even defending him by blocking him from her mom's view with her body. "You! Kim Sunwoo! You liar! You say that you're tutoring her, when you're actually influencing her and teaching her bad things! It's all your fault!" Y/N's mom screeched angrily, running wildly and shoving her daughter to the side so she can push Sunwoo roughly into the water. He staggered and fell backwards, plunging into the depths of the dark water. "Mom!! What are you doing?" Y/N screamed with dismay, tears in the rims of her eyes. She crouched down beside the edge of the water. "This is all for your sake! We're leaving, Y/N," Her mom harshly snapped and dragged her away from the pond.

Sunwoo emerged from the top of the water, splashing around and gasping for air. He saw Y/N being forcefully taken away and he sighed. He knew how rude and inconsiderate Y/N's mom could be, and yet he just had to ignore that fact and get her in huge trouble. He hauled himself onto land and shook off the water droplets settled on his hair and let the water that sank into his clothes drip out on its own naturally. He trudged home in wet shoes and clothes glumly.

"Sunwoo! Kim Sunwoo! Wait up!" Y/N shouted to Sunwoo, who kept on walking with his earbuds in his ears once again. He turned around upon being called his name and spotted her running towards him. "Look, I'm so sorry about what happened yesterday," She apologized, bowing her head multiple times. Sunwoo inspected her face. There was a red mark on her cheek with the outlines of fingers, and he knew that it was her mom's doing. But understanding it was a sensitive topic, he didn't touch on it. "Yesterday is yesterday. Today is today. Don't dwell on the past," Sunwoo instructed. "Ooh, Sunwoo the wise sun, back at it again!" Y/N clicked her tongue in amusement.

Sunwoo flashed a smile to her at her commentating. "But Sunwoo, I can't walk with you today. My mom's picking me up. She doesn't trust me anymore. PLUS, today is the blind date day. AKA dooms day," She whined. Sunwoo detected a van pulling up next to them and the driver's window rolling down. Of course it was Y/N's mom... "Y/N! Get in the car now," She ordered, opening the door automatically with a press of a button. Y/N sighed, but before leaving, she hugged Sunwoo tightly around the waist. "For luck!" She whispered and then turned to scramble into the car. As the car rumbled past, he could still remember Y/N's warmth pressed against his body. He reminisced it and cherished it mentally.

"Y/N. Good luck," Y/N's mom smiled encouragingly to Y/N as her mom parked next to a sidewalk in front of an expensive restaurant for dinner. The windows were transparent, and the customers were visible inside the exquisite dining place. "He's right there," Her mom beckoned to a male wearing a tuxedo. Y/N cringed at the sight, unable to take it in fully. She grimaced and regretted every step she took as she awkwardly strolled to the door, wobbling on her heels. She never wore heels before, and her mom forced her to wear a pair of glittering red ones. It was very uncomfortable.

Y/N entered the restaurant, and elegance was the definition of everything inside. She peeked behind her, and was distraught when she saw her mom pull out and drive off into the distance. "Someone save me," She mumbled to herself as she unevenly walked to the male sitting by himself, scrolling through his phone. He immediately put his phone in his pocket, revealing his face. As soon as he did so, Y/N yelped. "Juyeon?!" She cried out in surprise. He smiled to her, pressing a finger against her lips to silence her as he gently pushed down on her shoulder to make her sit in one of the fancy seats. "Long time no see, Y/N," he said, removing his finger from her pursed lips.

Juyeon was her ex-boyfriend from two years ago. In the start, Y/N had been heads over heels for him, but he barely gave any attention to her and always flirted with other girls. They continuously argued, and she had gotten sick of it all. He acted sweet on purpose in front of her mom, too, which caused her mom to root for Juyeon. It was such a bitter story that she would've liked not remembering. "Juyeon, what are you doing here? Did you and Mom plan this?" She sniffed. "What if I said we did?" He smirked to her, and she felt tears stinging her wet eyes. Her mom wasn't this cruel, was she? She hoped not. "No way. I'm leaving. We're over. We always have been," Y/N spit on his hand before she stood up abruptly.

Juyeon grabbed onto Y/N's hand and also stood up, yanking her arm and drawing her in closer. He dove in and planted a kiss upon her lips. She struggled to pull away, but Juyeon had a tight grip on her. At that moment, Sunwoo happened to be taking a walk around town. He gazed into the glass, envious of the people eating inside. Two people stood out to him. He squinted for a closer look, and they were kissing. Upon closer examination, he noticed that it was Y/N and her ex, Juyeon. He wasn't there when she had dated him, but she had shown him pictures and told him stories about how much she despised him. So why were they kissing?! Anger overwhelmed him and he felt like he was stabbed in the chest as he watched them.

Sunwoo barged inside, the door banging behind him. All eyes were now on him. He sped towards Juyeon and Y/N, prying them apart with strength and force. "S-Sunwoo?" Y/N stammered, the tears glistening on her eyelashes. They were so clear under the light, and how much she was wiping her mouth with her sleeve was enough to make him know the gist of what happened. "How dare you touch her!" He hollered with anger and frustration, curling his hand into a fist and delivering a blow to the jaw. Juyeon stumbled and fell into his seat, groaning in pain as he held his sore jaw in his hands.

Sunwoo took Y/N's hand in his. "Let's go," He said firmly. Y/N nodded gratefully, a small smile pasted on her face with her tears drying up as she was led out of the busy restaurant. He stopped far away from the restaurant, but still inside town. "Sunwoo, y-you don't know how happy I am to see you!" She cried, the tears replenishing and dribbling down her face as she embraced him and buried her face into his shirt. Sunwoo sighed loudly and he hesitantly returned the hug, patting her back reassuringly. "What bad luck, huh?" He quietly murmured in her ear, and she nodded. "Such horrible luck," She hiccuped. He pulled her away but held her by the shoulders.

"Y/N, I have something to say. It may be crazy, but I have to say it," He swallowed. Y/N wiped away her tears with her hands, "What is it?" "Y-Y/N... I hate to see you kissing another guy," He confessed awkwardly, but sincerely. "Me too, obviously, since I saved my first kiss for the only one I will ever like genuinely," Y/N smiled weakly and looked down at the floor. Sunwoo used his hand to rest it on her chin and lift her head up. "Who?" He asked unsurely. Y/N's smile widened as she responded.

"You."

"You took all my shine," Sunwoo felt heat crawl onto his cheeks and rest there as he smiled in relief. Their feelings were mutual... He was engulfed in joy. He wanted this moment of happiness to last forever and ever. "No, I well never take your your shine. I physically and mentally can not, since you're the sun that makes my life brighter," Y/N tearfully admitted. "And I always will be," Sunwoo said before he kissed her.
