It was raining that day. And Y/N L/N, the main character of this sad love story, didn't know it would rain. She didn't wear a hoodie, bring a raincoat, wear rain boots, or bring a classic umbrella. She had promised with Hyunjae, her friend, to meet up at the amusement park by 8:00 AM, but he still wasn't here, even after waiting an hour at the entrance with the tickets. Today, she had planned on confessing that she liked him. Today, she had planned to spend that entire day with him and have fun. Today, she had planned on making important memories with him that she would cherish forever.
But he wasn't here. Y/N was now waiting in the rain looking like a homeless fool. Her hair and clothes were drenched and soaked, and it was useless to go in without him. She would have to continue waiting for him, unless she would give up love to go back home and get out of the rain. She believed in Hyunjae. He wasn't that type of guy to stand people up, right? Right?
Y/N held her hands over her head to stop some of the rain, even if it was just a little. Another hour passed, and she was hopping from one foot to the other, her skin slick with the rain, and her clothes a darker hue because of how wet it is. Her hair stuck to her face and couldn't be combed properly without having a knot in between. She was cold. She was freezing. She had a cold. But she wouldn't give up.
Thirty minutes later, he still wasn't here. That's when she gave up. Y/N sighed, shoving her hands into her pockets and trotting away from the amusement park and to the bus stop not too far away.
Today was also the day that Changmin (Q) would run like some fool and confess to Y/N L/N. They knew each other and were friends from birth, and he didn't approve of Hyunjae meeting with Y/N, even if they were new friends. He knew she liked Hyunjae, and that's what he hated he most. He didn't like losing to anyone. Especially if it involves someone he loved for more than 10 years.
Today was also the day that Hyunjae would wake up late and be late to meeting with Y/N, whom he liked for a while now. He was oblivious of Y/N's feelings, and was glad that he could spend time with her today. But he was so frustrated with himself for forgetting to set an alarm and be late for a date-like time with someone he loved for a year.
Y/N was walking slowly down the sidewalk and stepping in puddles here and there. She had no enthusiasm left in her to splash in them like she usually would do with Changmin. Suddenly she longed for him. He always knew how to comfort her in situations like these... He would know how to cheer her up again. She began having these thoughts but was snapped back to reality when she spotted someone sprinting, kicking up droplets of water with an umbrella swinging helplessly behind him.
Then she recognized him. "Changmin! Changmin!" She called out his name in joy, bouncing up and down happily as she watched him pick up the pace and finally arrive where she was currently standing. He held the umbrella over the two of them, panting. He was clearly out of breath. Y/N grinned brightly and hugged him. But the feeling of warmth for Changmin was only temporary, since her embrace was brief.
"I told you he would stand you up!" Changmin scolded Y/N, who hung her head after explaining to him what happened and why she was here getting hit by the rain. "I'm so glad you're here, Minnie. I would've begun crying and embarrassed myself if I was alone," she joked, pinching his cheeks. The bus roared and rumbled to a stop in front of the two, opening the doors that were opened by the driver. Several people hopped off the bus and made their way to the amusement park, which was still open besides the rain.
Among those people was someone who was running to the entrance.
His name is Hyunjae, and he got off right as Y/N and Changmin climbed onboard.
