Kevin flicked me on the exposed forehead, giggling like a child. I winced but soon recovered and fell silent before opening my mouth to speak. "Who... Who is it?" I quietly inquired. Kevin's cheeks were now a crimson red, and his eyes were wavering unusually. He constantly licked his lips, even if they weren't dry. "It's someone I've known for a while now," He laughed. I bit my fingernail. Could it be me? I've known him a long time, and I can't think of anyone he's talked about that was friends with him as long as me. I was also afraid that he might think I was self-absorbed or self-centered if I bluntly asked if it was me who he liked. I rested my palms against my rose-hued cheeks, feeling the heat compress.

I should've been freaking out by now, but I was surprisingly calm. "Another hint," I requested, my eyes averting to him. "F-Fine. It's a girl," He puffed out his cheeks adorably. I irritatingly rolled my eyes and kicked him with my bare foot. "Come on!" I grunted. His laugh was shaky and his final response was enough to make me topple off the bed. "It's the girl sitting right in front of me, and staring at me. It's the girl that's always there for me whenever I'm down, and it's the girl that's always there to make me laugh. It's the girl that is caring and selfless, and probably doesn't feel the same about me," He intensely gazed at me, his courage gathering.

My heart leaped to my throat and I coughed violently. Part of me expected this, but I didn't expect it to be so heartfelt. My face grew warm and my hands were sweaty. "You think I don't like you?" I interrogated, shifting closer to him so that our knees grazed. "Yeah..." Kevin looked down, his fingers curling and gripping the blankets tightly until his knuckles turned a ghostly white. I lifted my hand up and grasped his quaking shoulder. His head snapped up, his widened eyes fixated on me. "I'm going to say my five statements now," I informed. He nodded reluctantly.

"First, I like you. Second, I love you. Third, I adore you. Fourth, I miss you every time you're away. Fifth, I hate you," I grinned goofily with my teeth shown. It should've been very obvious, but being the doofus that Kevin was, he couldn't get the hint. Kevin was slightly confused, partially flustered, and the rest of him was just bundled up with embarrassment. "I think all of them are a lie..." He pressed his own hand against mine, which was settled atop his shoulder that had stopped quivering. "Wrong!" I flicked his forehead with my other hand. I smiled warm-heartedly. He yelped, rubbing his sore forehead and peering up at me with puppy-like eyes.

"All of them are right except for the last one. I could never hate you," I whispered in a low voice. Kevin's smile grew at my words before he tackled me, his arms wrapping around my waist. "Oh my gosh... I've actually been waiting for this my entire life- Oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh," He rapidly admitted. I laughed loudly, combing back his smooth hair (a/n: his hair looks so soft and silky and so commercial-worthy istg). "I have too," I murmured. He peeled away from me, now a full smile dancing on his pink lips.

For a few seconds we just sat there, looking and searching in the depths of each other's eyes. It wasn't at all awkward or queasy. It was rather harmonious and strangely comforting. Soon I broke away from our locked eyes, unraveling the silence that had enveloped around us. "Well. It's turning late. We should go to bee," I hummed, checking the time with the watch strapped around my wrist. "Yeah. I'll go get my luggage," Kevin informed before scrambling out the door. Once he left, I began rolling around in my bed, squealing enthusiastically and letting out muffled screams. Wow. He liked me?

I gnawed my sleeves before bolting back up. I shook my head and smacked the sides of my face. I need to stay sane. I rubbed my eyes and walked to my closet, removing my pajamas from the hangers. I locked the door and changed into the comfy pajama set. I unlocked the door as soon as Kevin hobbled on in, lugging around his bags. I hopped back onto my bed. "The mattress is right underneath my bed. You'll have to plug in the air tube to fill it up with air," I instructed. He obeyed, taking the squished mattress and flattening it out before grabbing the tube and plugging it into the hole. He pumped in the air until it was full and took it out, closing the hole with the cover.
