"Are you insane? First of all, we barely know each other. Second of all, why would I want to be roommates with someone as," I pointed to him. "Shabby as you?" Kevin was expressionless the entire time, holding his hands behind his back as he patiently waited for me to finish my objection. "Lastly, I'm.. I'm a girl and you're a boy," I whispered the last portion, scratching my chin sheepishly. "Cool. All the more reason to room with you," he smiled invitingly, but I threw him a look of disgust.

If he's the son of the founder, it's best I avoid him as much as I can. "I'll room with someone else. No thanks. Toodles!" I waved to him, fluttering my fingers before skipping towards the dormitories, my suitcase rolling behind me over the sleek tiled floor. Lots of students were miller around the rooms, selecting who to be roommates with and sorting out their belongings already. I discovered an empty room at the end of the first floor, and it was right next to the flight of marble stairs that spiraled up to the second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth floor. I grinned to myself proudly as I closed the door gently behind me, kneeling down beside the heavy-weighted door and unzipping my suitcase.

I removed piece by piece all my clothes and stuffed them messily into a drawer that was already positioned there. I hummed a melodic tune as I finished taping up posters of my favorite bands, organized all my personal possessions on a desk, and adorned the walls with attractive decorations. "Perfect," I smirked, triumph shimmering in my eyes as I puffed out my chest out of pride. I closed up my suitcase and shoved it into a dusty and shadowed corner. "Now... The next person that comes in to be my roommate will be my friend!" I clasped my hands together as I pictured me and an imaginary, made-up person eating lunch together, working on projects together, and helping each other out on work.

The door clicked open and my eyes became round with excitement. Then all my hopes and dreams shattered and fell into a million pieces.

"Oi, why don't you turn on the fan for me? It's burning in here. Oh, and your bed is the smaller one. I'm taking the bigger one. Hey dog, fetch me that pen, would you?" A voice I didn't want to hear came echoing in the room, and it made me grimace and make gagging noises. It was repulsive. "Dog, hurry up! No time to waste. Or you already forgot about me?" I turned around at this and planted my hands on my hips, eyes squinting to judge him thoroughly. "Who would ever forget such a retarded person, hm?" I snarled, wrinkling up the bridge of my nose. "No one!" he exclaimed as he shouldered past me.

"Kevin, for my sake, just get out!" I begged.

"If it's for you, nope. Never," he replied with a smile.
