ERIC - ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ
length: 1 part
P.O.V: 3rd & reader insert
~~~~Eric was having trouble reaching an item he needed to buy in a large store. It was placed on a high shelf that he couldn't quite grab no matter how much he hopped around exhaustingly and stood on his tippy toes. "Ugh. Might as well just make an excuse up to Chanhee, Changmin, Juyeon, Jacob, Hyunjoon, Sanggyun, Hyunjae, Kevin, Sunwoo, Haknyeon, Younghoon and tell them I couldn't get it," Eric groaned, counting off all their names with his fingers.
Then he felt a shadow darken him and he froze up. Eric felt a hand brush his hair ever so slightly and the hair on the back of his neck stood up, his shoulders growing tense. Who was it? Someone was breathing on his head and he couldn't quite wrap his head around the situation. Then he felt a tap on his shoulder, and he whipped around, prepared to fight someone if necessary. But then he saw someone that he didn't expect to see expose her in front of him.
"Y/N!" He gasped, a welcoming smile finding its way onto his lips. "Long time no see! How'd you know I was here?" He fist-bumped a very cheery Y/N, who held up the item he had been struggling to get. He rolled his eyes at her, but still displayed that bright smile of his, showing off his teeth. "Tall people these days," he remarked in a sarcastic voice, receiving a dolphin-like laugh from her. "It's funny to see you struggle to get something because you're short~ And by the way, I didn't come to see you. I was just passing by but saw your ugly pink hair standing out and just knew it was you!" She insulted innocently, batting her eyelashes at Eric. He gently punched Y/N in the arm. "I'm not THAT short. You're just too tall," He retorted. "And my dyed hair isn't ugly." "It is," she immaturely mocked. "No it's not," he puckered his lips and shot back.
"It is!"
"It's not!"
"It is!"
"It's not!"
Y/N simply prodded Eric in the cheek. "You're too childish," she snickered. "Says you! You were the one that started it!" He objected loudly, slapping her hand away from his face. "See! This is what I'm talking about! A 1st grader attitude!" She jeered, elbowing him in the ribs. "Ow," he whined and rubbed his side, tilting his head back so he could glare at her, who was suppressing a giggle. "But why're you here anyway?" She dropped the item in his cart and it fell with a clatter. "I'm on an errand," he responded in a glum tone. "They're playing games in the living room and because I'm the youngest, I have to go and shop."
"Yikes. I'm glad I'm not living with them," Y/N joked. "It's not too bad. At least I get some fresh air," he shrugged. "And I got to meet you, which isn't so bad. How long has it been?" "Aw, so indirectly cute. Did you miss me?" Y/N pinched his cheeks and messed with him, using her height to her advantage. "Hey! I'm not some child. Why would I miss you? No one would miss you," he puffed out his cheeks. "Aw, what are these cute acts for?" the taller girl ruffled his hair and cooed. He was just at a loss for words. How could she draw conclusions from just one action? "These are habits, Y/N. Habits!" Eric said.
"Okay, okay. Hold your horses, grandma. I'm a bit hurt. You didn' t miss me while I was overseas?" Y/N frowned and exaggerated her feeling of hurt by hitting her chest and fake-crying horribly. "Stop exaggerating. I- I did miss you, idiot," She heard him stutter. "Ooh, are you embarrassed to show affection like this to a friend that's a girl~?" she wagged her fingers at him and grinned. "That makes me feel better." "Should I let you meet the others? They should already know you from my birthday party last last year," Eric said. "Sure!" She peeped. "That would be great for easily-embarrassed Chanhee," she sneered teasingly.
Eric suddenly felt a bang of jealousy at how she was only talking about Chanhee who was also known to be New. "He's actually really cute when he gets flustered," Y/N remarked. "I really wanna pinch his cheeks." "Ew, he's like 50 years old," he joked, scrunching up his face. "No he's not!" She huffed, crossing her arms. "But still, why him?" He quietly asked. "Well, you see," she began, clasping her hands together with a goofy grin on her face and her ears gradually growing a crimson red.
"He's adorable when he's flustered, and he's nice too. He's just cute and fun to be around," she concluded. "You only met him once! Is he that better than me?" Eric snorted. "Huh? Er, well, you're obviously a better choice in dating since I've known you longer," Y/N's voice became quieter and quieter, so he had to strain his ears to hear and comprehend what she was saying. "Really?" He brightened at her explanation. "Yeah but-" Eric interrupted her mid-sentence, "Hey. Say someone asked you out. What would be the place that you would want to go to?" "Why the sudden question? Probably somewhere like a cafe to talk to them," she replied nonchalantly.
"Then let's go!" Eric chirped. "What?!" Y/N gawked at him. "Let's go to the cafe!" He repeated. "Oh wait... I skipped a step," he stopped himself before Y/N could say anything about it.
"Want to go out with me?"
