I came to school the next day. The teachers and my classmates equally seemed to be shocked that I had shown up on time.

To be honest, it was such a burden to get up from bed early and do my morning routine in time to catch the bus to go to school at exactly 8:00 in the morning.

My parents had left to go to work earlier than I did so I didn't get to see them off. But I was used to it by now- their absence meant nothing to me anymore.

I stumbled into class, still drowsy since this wasn't what I normally did in the mornings. I rubbed my eyes, walking to my seat, and sitting down, slouching in my chair. I looked around to try and find Kevin, who had told me he was in the same class as me. Usually, I would've noticed if someone like him were in my class. Maybe he was just that irrelevant to me.

Soon enough, I made eye contact with Kevin Moon, who was sitting in the first row. I stuck my tongue out at him and tried to make a disgusted face to prove to him that I wasn't at all happy to see him. Kevin simply scoffed and turned in his seat to face the front again.

Irritated, I rolled my eyes as class officially started after homeroom announcements.

I struggled to stay awake, dozing off here and there but constantly hitting myself to keep my eyes open.

Time surprisingly flew by quickly. Even though I had promised Kevin that I'd pay attention in class, I couldn't help but space out. Lunchtime was just around the corner, and I was exhausted more than I had ever been, and it was only because I was spending more energy in keeping myself awake.

Five minutes later, the bell rang, signaling to the school that it was time for lunch.

Yawning and rubbing my eyes, I heaved myself to my feet. While the rest of the class was filing out the door and talking excitedly with their friends, I stayed behind, remembering with distaste that I had to meet with Kevin Moon in the library to do the one thing I detested: study.

I groaned, shaking my head. I bet he just liked to torture me.

"Y/N," I heard a familiar voice from behind me. I turned around and lo and behold, it was Kevin Moon.

I clicked my tongue, "Well look who we have here. Satan himself has so kindly greeted me."

Kevin stared down at me, the height difference apparent. "Come. We're going to the library."

"Can't you give me time to eat lunch at least?" I asked, puffing out my cheeks.

"No. We have no time to waste," Kevin responded coldly, turning on his heels and walking out the door without trying to hear me out. I grumbled a string of curse words under my breath before stomping after him.

We both arrived in no time at the library. It was silent in there besides the sound of turning pages and the marks of the pencil lead against paper. The silence was driving me insane, and I wanted to leave at this instant!

I massaged my temples to calm myself down, but I couldn't help but get agitated at every small sound that pierced this dead calm in the vast library. And he's telling me to study in here even though the library is my least favorite place ever? I'd never even stepped foot in here before, but I just knew how much I'd hate this kind of setting.

Kevin had brought along his backpack, while, like an idiot, I had brought nothing.

Kevin looked me up and down with a judgmental look. Jeez, I know I forgot to bring my things, but you don't have to look at me as if I'm some newborn baby!
