"Who is Lisbeth?"
Iyon ang tanong na sinalubong ko pagkalabas ni Gene ng banyo. She's on her sando and boxers, basa pa at bahagyang tumutulo ang buhok.
"Hey babe. Are you mad?"
She's so confused as she looked at me sitting at the edge of the bed with her phone on my hand. For a month, I never asked for Gene's phone or at least have the curiosity to browse what's inside her device. Just tonight. Only tonight.
"Just answer my question who the fuck is Lisbeth!"
Gene was stunned by my sudden outburst. Hindi ko din alam kung bakit naiinis ako at this moment. Sa loob ng isang buwan, wala kaming ibang pinag-uusapan kundi puro ako. Gene has a lot of enthusiasm to ask me about what I want, what I wish and what I need. My dreams, my favorites and everything about me. I had never asked her about her personal life. Although, there are times na kusa siyang nagkukuwento.
"Hey babe. Are you jealous? Lisbeth's a friend of mine. Kababata ko siya. Assistant sa bar. And why are you holding my phone anyway?"
Dahan-dahan itong lumapit sa tabi ko at hinalikan ako sa noo. Hindi naman niya kinuha ang cellphone kaya hindi ko rin ibinalik sa kanya.
"Why'd you put password in your phone? Are you hiding something from me?"
She just smiled at me and buried her face on my neck. I can smell my shower gel from her skin. Damn, she's always using my things.
"0824. That's my password. Your birthday."
I was taken aback by what she said. Maybe in some way, hindi ko inaasahan na alam niya ang birthday ko kahit hindi ko naman sinasabi sa kanya. To think that she'll have it as her password.
I typed her phone's password and the device automatically unlocked. I was welcomed by a very captivating wallpaper. It was me sleeping, with nothing but an underwear under the sheets. This was the time we first made out, Gene's so aggressive I can't contain her desire. I nearly lost my mind, only that she stopped. She didn't take me. And it made me so happy.
I always feel Gene's sincerity towards me. Kung tutuusin, anytime pwede namang may mangyari sa amin. Nababaliw ako kapag malapit siya o nasa tabi ko siya. Nakakalimutan ko lahat. She's always the one who's holding back. Knowing Gene's history with other women, ang hirap isipin na kaya niyang tiisin at supilin ang anumang sexual tension sa pagitan namin. It's just so strong na kahit ako hindi ko kayang pigilan ang sarili ko.
"Satisfied babe?"
She started kissing me on my nape. She's now hugging me from behind. I just frowned and went to her inbox. The first of 10 unread messages from the same person doubled the lines on my head.
Hey handsome! Have you eaten?
"Are you sure Lisbeth's just a friend?"
There's a hint of annoyance in my voice. Talagang ganito sila mag-usap ng kaibigan niya? Kahit sabihin na sa text lang iyon.
"Babe, I love you. Ikaw lang. Are you jealous?"
"Your friend's a bit sweet."
She looked at the message on the phone I'm holding. She laughed upon reading the message. Mukhang aliw na aliw siya sa nabasa, which made me irritated more.
"Don't worry. Ganyan lang talaga si Lisbeth. C'mon, we were never an item. And will never be. It's just you, trust me. At isa pa, she knows about you. Madalas kitang ibida sa kanya. She knows how much I love you. She knows how much I'm crazy for you. It's only you, Sab."
