I don’t even hear the bell go because I’m so wrapped up in the story I’m reading that when someone touches my shoulder gently. I practically jump out of my skin. I look up to an amused pair of blue eyes, they’ve got a slight sparkle to them. I’m guessing from scaring me half to death! Nice and they found that amusing. Who would think that? I look around his face only to realise his hood is now done and his sun glasses on the top of his head, pushing back most of his brown hair but not all of it, some pieces have fallen down and he looks so cute, sexy even. I shuffle back in the bean bag to get away from his now scaring face "Are you right there?" I ask, pulling out my ear phones and he smiles at m
e "Sure, are you?" I’m taken back from his words.
Why would he ask me that when he interrupted me? "Excuse me but you’re the one who scared the shit out of me, not the other way round?" he chuckles the cutest little laugh before saying
"And you’re the one interrupting our class?" I look around and see kids from my grade hanging around the shelves looking for books.
I look at the librarian and see Mr Banks talking it up with her. They were the same age and single, so I guess it’s just a matter of time until something flares up between them. God people double my age can chop it up and I still have no idea how it’s done. I sigh and stand up looking at Jasper who’s watching my every move "Sorry" I say and grab my bag.
A hand quickly darts out and grabs my wrist and I look up into his crystal blue eyes "You don’t need to be sorry. You looked out of it. Are you okay?" just listening to his voice was soothing.
I don’t know why but I liked this boy already. He was sweet, caring and a badass! Maybe that’s why I’m attracted to him? I’ve never really had any friends who are badass. I mean Max and Felix have been in fights but they don’t really go looking for them, they’ve come to them and they’ve defended themselves. "Hello?" a hand waves in front of me and I realise I just totally zoned out in front of Jasper. I blush and quickly hide my face down "Um…Look. I’m sorry. I’m fine, I just needed some time alone – to think!" I say the last part and look up into his eyes and they looked caring and worried
"Are you sure? I mean if that douche bag from this morning started with you again let me know. It’s love to rearrange his face for you, if that’s what you what?" I smile as he looks around like his dangerous or some sort of assassin.
When he looks back at me he sees me smiling and smiles himself "So no face rearranging then?" he asks and I laugh "No, look thank you again for this morning. I don’t know why Jack has decided I’m his new target. He normally only goes for the new girls?" I shrug as I thought about it and Jasper says
"Well maybe you’ve got something other girls don’t?" My face instantly turns red. He caught onto that?
OMG I’m so ashamed right now. I go to push past him embarrassed but he grips my arms and makes me stop dead in my shoes and he whispers "Hey, I’m not judging and I don’t really care but what I do care about is guys like Jack thinking they can take what they can’t have. I told want to see you get hurt" I look at him and nod before he realises me and I rush out and to my own class, which I’m now 15 minutes late for – just great!
I was late for class and almost got myself a detention. Something I couldn’t have as then I’d be late to pick up Emily and then start dinner and to get my own homework started. The day just didn’t give me enough time in the day to finish everything so I has limited time. Once the school bell went I rush to my locker, left the books I didn’t need and brought he ones I did and rushed – no ran to catch my bus. I get on and take my normal seat and wait for everyone else to get on. I hear laughter and as I look up I see Jack and his crew get on. He stops talking to them and comes sits on the chair across from me "Well babes, we met again" I look at him as he wriggles his eyebrows and I feel awkward and uncomfortable.
He reaches out to take my hand when I hear "Babe, there you are. Move over will you" I look up and see Jasper smiling at me as he comes over to the seat.
I move over to the window and look over at him. I look at Jack and he looks like he’s ready to kill someone. He points to me and says "I’ll get you when lover boy isn’t around to save your ass and as for you. You’ll pay for making me bleed this morning" I watch as the 3 of them get up and walk to their usual seats at the back of the bus.
I look at Jasper who’s looking at me "Sorry …um what’s your name again?" I raise my eye brows and then giggle
"Brooklyn, but everyone calls me Brook"
"Well Brook. Looks like I’m gonna have to protect you from idiot Jack everyday. We might even become best friends?" I roll my eyes and look out the window.
He may have saved me this morning and I still think he’s cute but now I know he’s cocky as well. I’m not sure if I needed this drama in my life right now. I look out the window as I feel an arm come over my shoulders pulling me to them and he whispers "Hey, I won’t do anything you don’t want too and by the looks of your friends there!.." he points out the window to April and Lily who are looking quiet shocked right now that I have Jaspers arms around me
"I think you might need a new friend?" I look at him as I receive a text ‘What the hell was that Brook?
We totally put dibs on him first’ I groan at my phone and Jasper looks over my shoulder and reads the message "Dibs hey, well I guess your friends will have to wait" I blush slightly at his words as no ones every said that to me and to blow off April and Lily is going to be hell. I just know it!
