I come down and the pie was finally finished and they were all sitting around the table talking when I walked in. jasper smiled when he seen me and stood up. Dad looked at me and smiled "Be back by 10pm, it's a school night" I nod
"Thanks dad. Bye" i kiss his cheek and Emily's before we walk out
"So where are we going?" I ask again and jasper laughs
"Its a secret!" I groan as he unlocks the doors and we both get in.
Jasper drives us about 45 minutes away and i still have no idea where we are. Finally he pulls off the road and parks in a made shift, dirt car park. I look at him and then outside where its pitch black "Where are we?" I ask and Jasper laughs
"Its okay. I'm not going to murder you and leave you here?"
"Well that makes everything alright then doesn't it. because you said so" he chuckles as he gets out of the car and comes around to my door opening it up and letting me out.
I look around and its dark, like really dark. I can't see much in front of me so I don't know how Jasper can. I feel his hand reach mine and he grabs it "Follow me" he says softly and starts to tug me along behind him.
i just follow him and don't say a word. We walk for a bit before we reach a clearing from what I can see. Then Jasper stops and I stop with him "Isn't it beautiful?" he whispers and I look around and the stars are shinning bright above us and you can hear the crashing sound of the waves somewhere close by.
The wind picked up and I wrapped my jacket around me harder "Cold?" he asks and I hum softly.
next minute his arms come around me and pull me close to him. I instantly feel a lot more warmer "Thanks" I mutter and he whispers in my ear "No problem B" we stand there for a while just enjoying the view of the sky and the crashing sound of the waves.
It was so peacefully yet surreal at the same time.
Jasper ends the silence first "B. I want to tell you something" he's voice quiet and I turn to look at him but can only see part of his face from the moon above us
"Yeah, what's that Jasp?" he goes to talk when my phone starts to ring.
i groan and whisper a sorry as i answer "Hello?"
"Brooky, Helen is here. Are you coming home soon?" I smile at my little sister
"Yes Em. I'll be back soon"
"Is Jasper being nice. Dad said he had to be nice!" I laugh
"Yes Em, he's being nice" I look at Jasper who i can see is smiling right now at me
"Anything else Em?"
"Um?" she says as she tries to think of something
"Um yeah!" she says but more quietly
"What's that?" I ask
"Do you like Jasper more than Ja?" I'm taken back by her question and look at Jasper again who has no idea what my sister just asked
"Um. I don't know why?" I ask
"Coz. Jasper told me he liked you and I like him too Brooky. Ja isn't nice like he used to be..." she stops talking when I hear my dad scold her for calling me on my mobile
"Leave them alone Em" I hear faintly
"Dad says i have to go but have fun!"
"I will thanks Em" she hangs up and i place my mobile back in my pocket.
I look at Jasper who looks awkwardly at me and all i can hear are Emily's words "Jasper likes you! Jasper likes you!" is it true?
Does Jasper like me? Has Jamal changed and if so how have I not noticed? "So Jasp. You were about to say something?" he looks at me just as a bright shooting star flies right above us
