Emily looks at me and I shrug "I don’t know? Maybe its one of the guys, coming to say hello?" Emily plonks herself down and goes to the door.
I hear talking before Emily walks in and right behind her is Jamal. My heart flutters as I look at him "Hey Brook, I didn’t see much of you today at school. So I thought I’d call past and visit my 2 special girls" Emily hugs him as he stands there looking at me
"Sure, come in Jamal. I’m just making dinner"
"Oh what’s she cooking Em?" he asks and she giggles
"curry mince, wraps. My favourite!!" he laughs
"I know and it’s mine too!"
"Oh stay for dinner Ja! Please?" Emily begs and Jamal looks at me.
I shrug "it’s up to you, there’s plenty here!" he smiles
"Well then it’s settled. I’m staying for dinner" Emily squeals and then takes his hand and drags him to the living room
"Let’s watch TV until Brooky’s finished?"
"Okay" he says and gets dragged away. I smile at them both as I starts to cut up the food and get it ready to cook.
Once I’m done I make up the curry mince and start to cook the mince until a light brown. I can hear Em and Jamal laughing so I know they’re okay. Once the mince is lightly cooked I put it on simmer and add the other ingredients, stirring it while I wait. I leave it to simmer for a while and go to the living room where Jamal and Em are doing their homework, cutely at the coffee table. I watch for a moment before asking "Drinks anyone?" Jamal looks up and smiles while Em, gives me her order
"I’ll help" Jamal says jumping to his feet
"Sure" we walk into the kitchen and I make the drinks.
"Brook" Jamal almost whispers into my ear and I look over at him and he looks down to the ground.
He looks nervous but I’m not sure as to why "What’s up Ja?" I ask in a happy voice.
He looks up at me and our eyes lock, my heart flutters and he walks over grabbing both my hands in his "Brook about today. I’m sorry!" I look at him a little confused
"What for?" I ask
"For always running away when April and or Lily when there around…" he stops and looks up me, cupping my face in his hands
"Because all I really want is to be with you" he whispers sending chills down my spine.
I’m speechless and my feet are glued to the floor. I don’t know what to say or do. I’m frozen! "Look I know things haven’t been the greatest for you and I know I’ve slept with 2 people but the one person I’ve always wanted and loved is right there in front of me. Brook you make me go weak at the knees when I see you. I always want to protect you from April and Lily’s nasty comments but I’m always so scared or what they might say or do to me but after today I realised I need to take a stand….so Brook will you be my girlfriend?" my mouth was dry and I couldn’t speak.
What do I say? I mean yeah I loved Ja but wasn’t it the sort of love you have for each other that grows into something meaningful? I was dumb founded. I go to speak but instead he leans in and our lips met half way, gently pressing on each other. They felt warm and soft at the same time. A tingling feeling was running through them and the rest of my body. I hadn’t ever experienced this before, it was new to me. This was new to me – but I was enjoying his lips on mine. Jamal moved so we were closer and instinct took over. My hands wrapped slowly around his neck as his slipped around my torso. This was my first kiss ever and I liked it!
I don’t know how long we were in the embrace for but Jamal started to move his lips slowly against mine and mine had a mind of their own and worked or moulded well into his. Soon I feel the softness of his tongue lick my lip and although a little shocked. I gasped giving him full access to my mouth. My close closed as the softness of his tongue touched mine, even if I wanted to stop my body wasn’t allowing it. I held him tighter and closer to me and he immediately deepened the kiss causing me to moan with this sudden movement. He smirked into the kiss and continued to tongue wrestle with mine. He tasted so sweet but yet delicious at the same time. I couldn’t get enough, my hormones were running wild. I was getting these strange feelings that I’d never felt before and I just didn’t know how to control them. So I didn’t I let myself go and he held onto me for dear life "Um…drinks?" we were interrupted by Emily’s voice behind us.
I immediately moved away from Jamal, shocked but yet satisfied with our kiss – my first real kiss! I quickly turn to t the drinks on the bench top and hand her the drink she requested "Sorry Em…I…." she held up her hand to stop me and says
"It’s okay. Carry on!" with that she walked back into the living room with her drink. Leaving Jamal and I in an awkward position in the kitchen. "Um…." I can’t speak?
I don’t know what to say! What do I say to my best friend who I just shared a very intimate kiss with? Jamal laughs and moves forward slipping his hand around me then pulling me close so that I’m looking up at him "So what do you say? Do you forgive me for not waiting for you? I mean I wanted too but well you know the story?" I look at him as he blushes and goes shy on me
"What about the girl form holidays?" I try to move but he holds me closer to him were I can now smell him and man does he smell good.
