“Em, stop being a pig” I whisper and she looks up at me and gives me a glare
“Shut up!’ she yells over the table and everyone goes quiet and looks at us and my face turns red and dad looks angry.
He looks between us and then says “Enough you girls, we have company so behave?” I nod and so does Emily then we continue on.
Dinner turned out good. Helen really took a liking to Jamal and that was a bonus so when I needed her on my side I’m sure I’d get it now. Dad is forever saying no to everything and I just want some time to be with friends or my boyfriend – lol I can’t believe I can say boyfriend. It feels so weird? So afterwards Dad, Helen and Emily go to living room while Jamal and I got stuck with cleaning up duties. I guess this was for the sudden surprise of having Jamal over for dinner who by the way charmed the pants off everyone and even had Emily giggling which I was so happy to see. I was like early high school all over again when I started to first realise that we were getting closer and that our friendship meant a whole lot more than thought. The day dreams and feelings came into play and my world changed forever. I’d fallen for a guy and I had no one to talk to about, to get advice or to do anything about.
Jamal and i got stuck with the dishes so as everyone got to relax in the living room we stayed behind and cleaned up. Jamal found this time to spend up close and person we got the dishes done in no time and Jamal asked my dad if he could stay for a while. At first I think he was worried by Helen whispered something and dad smiled giving us permission to hang in my room. I almost died when I heard the words leave his mouth "Sure, you can go up to your room but no funny business okay?" we both nodded before heading upstairs to my room, hand in hand.
I shut and locked the door behind us as I knew Emily would try and come in and although he said no funny business I was planning on some funny business!
We were in the middle of a long but passionate kissing session when there was a knock at my door. i groan "Yes?" I called out still in Jamal's arms.
"Brook, dad says I have to go to be and say goodnight" I roll off Ja and leave him to lay over my bed, on my pillows to be exact and I unlocked then opened the door.
Emily peeked in and I open the door wider for her to see that we weren't doing anything "Goodnight Em" I say leaning down to kiss her cheek.
I pushes me away "Ja, why did you hurt Brook?" I stiffen up as she walks over to the bed and sits down looking at Ja whose not sure what to say but the looks nervous.
he looks up at me and i walk over and pull her up off my bed "Em, don't annoy Ja. Just say goodnight please?!" she looks at me and then him and folds her arms over her chest
"I'll go when he answers!" she points at him then crossed her arms again, then gives him the death stare and he shifts on my bed.
Sitting up he looks at her than me "I didn't mean too Emily, really. I was just stupid I guess?" he looks down at his fingers which his fumbling with and then looks up at Emily whose looking at him hard
"Well Jasper made it all better, you know maybe he should be her boyfriend and not you?!"
"Emily please. Don't!" I say walking up to her and Jamal looks up at us and I grab Emily and start walking her to my door
"Say sorry Emily" I say sternly and she pouts
"No, he hurt you and when he does Jasper fixes it. Everytime!" I close my eyes and breath
"Em, go to bed now!" she looks at Jamal than me and sighs
"Fine. Goodnight Jamal. Night Brooky" she gives me a hug and leaves.
i close the door while closing my eyes thinking this isn't going to go down well but I have to prepare myself for it. So i take a deep breath and then turn around only to find Jamal standing up almost glaring at me "What's going on with you and Jasper and don't give me this bullshit story of your friends because even your sister can see that it's not?!" I take a breath in and walk up to him, grabbing his hand sand looking into his eyes - those beautiful eyes I feel in love with almost 4 years ago
"Ja, please she's talking about our date night. When you didn't show Jasper came past and took me out. We went to the fair but you were here when we got back - remember?" he looks at me and his gaze softens
"yeah i do. how could I forget. I almost ruined everything" he states.
I slip my arms around him and pull him close "Now lets not fight and forget all that and get back to what we were doing because I was really enjoying that!" I whisper as I got on my tippy toes and kissed him.
He allowed our lips to move together and then I felt his arms go around me a tighten. We were as close as you could be. My hands reached up and went around his neck and I held him tighter. We were in full swing when the door opened and we were interrupted by my dad. His eyes boring down at us. Jamal held me as i tried to snuggle into his body to shield myself from him as I prepared for the onslaught he was about to send. We watched as he clenched his fists and then he looked at Jamal than me "I'm taking Helen home. Jamal can stay but the door stays open, you hear me?!" I swallow hard and nod
"O-Okay"
"Mr Waters - Greg. We were just..." Jamal goes to explain but dad holds his hands up
"I know what you were doing I've seen it before it what happens afterwards I'm worried about!" Jamal's grip tightens and he speaks back up
"I promise you Greg that I won't take advantage of Brook like that, not until we're both ready to commit" Dad eyes him and then nods
"Thank you Jamal. I feel a little easy but still, things can get out of hand. I know I was once a teenage boy with hormones as well and I know how quickly things happen so just be careful and if - oh gawd I can't believe I'm saying this - but if it does happen please promise me to use protection!" my face burns up as does Jamal's
"Greg, I promise that if you we commit to something like that. We will use protection"
"Good! Now I'll be back in a few hours. Watch over Em okay?" we nod
"And no funny business in my house!" he points at us before walking off.
I bury my head into Jamal "OMG he's so embarrassing. I'm so sorry Ja" he lifts my face up with his finger and smiles
"It's okay. You should be happy to have a dad who cares. Not many girls have that and look at where they're at?!" April and Lily flash into my head.
Their parents are always out and they scream for attention , when they didn't get it that's when they started sleeping around looking for the affection elsewhere. its common in teenagers these days and not in just girls. Boys as well. I nod knowing we was right but still he didn't have to do the WHOLE SEX speech thing?
