"So what your saying," I continued, while stopping next to a ball throwing game that was placed in front of the red tower, "I'm holding potentially the most powerful artifact of the Dreamaverse."
"Well," said Tom, "It can be a potentially an extremely dangerous weapon in the wr-"
"RIGHT hands you were about to say!"
Mare interrupted Tom and floated to the side of the red tower.
"Think of all the amazing things I can make with the Dreamaverse destroyed and reset.  People have dreamt for too long... It's my Nightmares's turn now!" He laughed.
I backed up a little.
"Get away from there, Jem!" I heard Tom say.
"You know it's justifiable.  Discriminating our kind, can Nightmares not dream too?" Mare said, coming closer.
"He's planning on taking over the world, Jem.  I know I can trust you in not helping him do it.  But you need to get that book away from him." Said Tom.
I backed up some more and Mare grew a flame in his hand.  It got bigger and bigger until the size of a basketball.  He threw the flame of shadow and I rolled to my left to avoid it.  I then made my sword appear in my hand and ran towards Mare.  He didn't move a muscle and let me come at him.  I jumped up and all he did was lift his arm and I swiped downward.  My sword caught his arm and didn't cut through.  There was a spark and crackle of shadows between the sword and his arm.
"What?" I said, confused.
"Pure shadow can't cut through pure shadow," Mare smiled, " But pure shadow can cut through you pretty easily."  Shadows around me held me in place in the air and Mare stuck the fist of his free hand into my stomach.
"Youchees!" I said getting launched back to the ground.  It was only a 6 foot fall that I managed to land.  I picked up The Book of Gems I dropped while suspended in the air.
"What," Mare seemed perplexed, "My fist... Should have killed you.  It should have went right through you."
I felt pretty powerful, and I looked down to see that my body had a very strong aura of shadows, moving around me.
"The power of that sword AND the book will be mine.  Hand it over now to save you the trouble!" Demanded Mare.
"Uhh, no thanks, I'd rather just walk away.  And if you try and stop me, I'll just have another Shadowman defeat added to my resume." I responded.
"A SHADOWMAN defeat?!  My intelligence and skills outmatch ALL the shadowmen and Nightmares you've defeated all in ONE!  Just for your information.  And I promise a very painful punishment will come your way for that insult.  Not sure what, but it's going to be painful!" Ranted Mare with anger.
I laughed, his rage was a very enjoying thing to witness.
"Well, okay then, I just hope it's less painful listening to you talk all the time.  It gets kinda boring after a while."
Mare's facial expression was pure anger by now.  He rushed toward me and I jumped to the left.  He crashed into the ground next to me and I ducked as he shot himself at me, almost taking off my head.  He stopped in the air and moaned.
"UGH!" He said, a faint cloud of shadows growing around him.
"Jem, you should hide the book, set up the Campoints, and get out of there first chance you have.  Your not there to risk your life fighting Mare." Said the button.
"Okay." I sighed.
I left the Campoints on the bench that was placed next to the big red tower.  Mare came at me again and I ran towards the bench.  He launched a flame of shadows at the book and it blasted out of my hands.
"Ugh, the one time your aiming is good."
"HAHA!" Said Mare darting to the book.
"Doesn't matter," Tom said, "The Campoints!"
Mare reached the book and scooped it up.
"YES!  HE'LL BE GLAD I GOT MY HANDS ON THIS." Mare yelled excitedly, holding up the book.
He flew away towards his lair in the Marescape in a hurry.
"But... Did we just lose?" I asked.
"No, we didn't.  We just have a change of objectives." Said Tom.
I took the Campoints off the bench and I decided to put them on the back of the ball game stand.  Seems weird how it's just, randomly here.  The game had the cans set up  and a bucket of balls.  Noone was running it so there was no point of playing.  There wasn't much amusement in this park.
"Ready." I told Tom.
"The Campoints?" He asked.
"Yeah, those things." I answered.
"Welp, we'll have to explore it tomorrow.  Your brother says it's time for you two to wake up," Said Tom, "So you can press down on that red button.  I'mma tell Kiara about the stuff she missed while I was gone."
"So your mostly just going to bombard her about all the inventions you made?"
"Yes, exactly, how'd you know?"
"Haha, I had a feeling."
"Oh okay.  Well goodbye, semi-nice working with ya."
The button's red light shut off.
I looked around for a second thinking I heard something, but it must have been the tower again.  Or, wait.
"Gahhhhhhh!" I heard from above me coming closer and closer.
A bat!  A weirdly, screaming, bat... With a red bandana?
"Wha-" I was about to say but the bat swooped with it's wings and landed on top of me.
"Ah, get off!" I screamed.  Then I realised I was talking to a bat.  It shook me by my collar with it's three, clawed, tiny fingers, as it stood atop of me while I was on the ground.
"What are you doing with the book?!" The bat said.
I shocked it could speak.  It's voice sounded scratchy and deep.
"Hey, stop it, nothing!" I yelled.
After a minute of me yelling "Get off of me!" The bat stopped shaking me and got off me.  It was a pretty big bat.  With black fur and a red cloth tied around it's head.  It looked like a ninja bat.
"Okay," it started saying, "If you were an enemy, you would've tried to kill me just then.  So who are you?"
I sat up and said, "First, you have to tell me who you are, it's only fair since you tried strangling me to death."
The bat looked down in silence for a while before finally saying, "Okay."
