Into The Forest

Carlos and Kiara were basically already at their destination.
"Isn't that?" Carlos said, looking up and noticing Alex floating down toward them.
Alex waved to them.
"Oh, it's Alex!" Said Kiara happily and waving back.
She landed down and joined them.
"What's going on here?" Asked Carlos.
"So, me and your friend, Jem, went exploring down inside the crack over there," Explained Alex, pointing at the crack, "And there were tons of redemon, and even a king redemon.  They said they were going to invade up here, so me and Jem went inside to sabotage, and stuff, I guess, and we found this huge beast.  I went inside, met this black guy, no not Jem, he was some sort of shadow.  I ended up beating the shadow person and destroyed the monster from the inside.  Now I'm here!"
"That must have been Mare..." Said Kiara, thinking.
"What about Jem?" Asked Carlos.
"Oh... I'm not sure... I honestly... I don't know." Said Alex, hesitantly.
A blast of blue emerged from the crack and went away.
"I'm guessing that has to do with Jem." Said Kiara confidently.
"Yeah most likely." Carlos agreed.
"Eh," Said Alex, unsure, "There were a lot of redemon down there, I don't see any way he could've gone through them all."
Carlos tapped Kiara's shoulder and pointed towards the fighting armies.  They looked over just in time to see me running over to them through the cluster of Nightmare and redemon.  I ran, jumped up, and sidekicked a shadowman's head, bouncing off and landing with a another sidekick to a redemon's head.  Both were defeated as I slide under clashing nails and tridents and came back up, slicing at the Sharp-Wing in front of me.  After defeating more and more, an aura of shadow grew stronger around me.  I was almost out until a gang of redemons blocked my path.  I stuck out the bottom of my sword toward the redemon, not really sure of what I was doing, until a stream of white came from it.  The white burned through the redemons, and cleared the path.  The stream of white died out along with the aura of shadow that flowed around me.  I ran through the opening and out of the fighting toward Kiara, Carlos, and Alex.
"How'd you make it out?!" Asked Alex, surprised.
"Well, the redemon king almost killed me, he was about too.  But Mare came crashing in, and, right now they're fighting.  But the cave is falling apart, they'll both be crushed down there any moment now." I said.
"The cave is falling?" Asked Kiara.
"Yeah it seemed like it, why?" I asked.
"If the cave falls, so should this whole area."
"Oh..."
"We have to get out of here then." Said Carlos, already starting.
"We're taking Alex with us." Said Kiara.
"Wait, how are you planning on getting out of here?" Alex asked.
"Like you said, the forest over there is the only way out." Kiara responded, pointing at the area full of green and trees.
"Eh... I don't think going through there is too good of an idea." Said Alex uncertain.
"Is there a way around?" I asked.
"Eh, no."
"Then through the forest we go!" I said with much enthusiasm.
We ran across the stone path with burning, broken huts on each side.  There were barely any, but Alex cringed when passing by the Tikis running around and freaking out.  Kiara's explanation of how they weren't actually real didn't seem to help at all.  We reached the field of grass outside of the broke down town of Tikis.  We were close to the forest and halted right before it, seeing movement.  Big movement.  The trees closest to us were all cut down and a giant chainsaw retracted back into a Circlesaurus's mouth.  The others stayed back as me and Alex ran towards it.  It took it's chainsaw tongue back out and I threw my sword, cutting it clean off.  It spun around, attempting to hit us with the spiked cube at the end of its tail.  Jay landed a huge fist on the ground, launching her over me, and above the giant spiked cube about to hit me.  Jay covered the spiked cube with his stretched out, root-like hands and lifted it up before it could hit me.  The Circlesaurus fell forward with it's tail stretched out above it.  I jumped up to the end of its tail, and used my sword to hit it down.  A shadow came out of the sword, shaping the end into a square, almost like a spatula or fly-swatter.  I swatted down the Circlesaurus's tail right into itself, making its body pop into green acid.  Alex landed safely with Jay parachuting her down slowly.  I did several flips on my way down, just for style, then we continued through the forest.  It was quiet besides the far off sounds of Circlesaurus's cutting down trees.  We walked calmly through the forest until Carlos ran in front of us with an arm extended.
"Wait!" He said, looking down.
Alex looked around nervously.
"What?" Asked Kiara with  tilted head.
Carlos examined the ground closely, then kicked dirt onto the spot he was looking at.  A huge rock fell onto the ground from the tree next to the trap Carlos spotted.
"Woah, how'd you know that would happen?" I asked, surprised.
"What's so dangerous about this forest that you were too afraid to go it?" Kiara asked.
"Eh, not sure.  Its just when a Tiki goes out here, they don't come back," Alex answered, "Except one, with it's arm gone."
"Can't those things just grow new arms?" I asked.
"Nah, only Jay can do that."
Carlos tapped my shoulder.  I turned to see him staring out in front of us.  I looked over to where he was looking and shortly after so did everyone else.  In front of us was a tall man, and even through his tan colored buttoned shirt, you could tell he was extremely muscular.  He had on brown long pants with too may extra pockets on them.  On his back he wore a one strapped bag that carried a bow and arrows, and in his hand a machete, similar to Jay's, but way longer and scary-looking.  He was looking down, and covering his face was a brown adventurer type hat.
"Uh, hi." I said, waving.
The man looked up and stared at me with dead, cold eyes.
"Who... are you?" I hesitated to get out.
He took a single step towards us, still staring me dead in the eyes.
