Beast Mode

Alex didn't stop even as Mare's flame of shadow cut a big gap through the metal floor ahead of her.  She jumped into the gap, knowing she couldn't jump over it, and Mare stood in surprise as she fell out of his view, plummeting down the abyss of acid.  Seconds after two pale hands emerged from the hole and grabbed a hold of the edge.  Jay pulled up Alex back up on the other side of the gap and kept running.  Mare got out of shock and flew after her.  She made it to the door at the end of the hallway and jumped to the right.  The flame of shadow Mare hurled at her missed and burst open the metal door.  Alex ran through it, and entered a maze of turning gears and steaming machinary.  Alex tried looking for away through, but the gears blocked her vision of the other side.  She turned back to see Mare chasing after her again, forming a ball of shadow in his hand.  She faced the gear and machinary and turned to a path on her left.  The loyal Tiki in her backpack reached in and took out a coconut from the bag.  He chucked the coconut at Mare, hitting him in the face and slowing him down.  Alex continued running as Jay took out another coconut and prepared for another throw.  Mare grunted with anger and lost Alex in the maze of gears.  With anger taking control of thought, he hurled shadows at the gears and machines, clearing his path of them.  Alex, hearing the explosions and smelling the smoke of fire behind her, kept running.  Mare eventually caught sight of her as she rolled behind the nearest machine in front of her.  Mare blasted it to pieces and a fire erupted from it.  Alex sprinted behind the next wall of gears, and saw a metal door leading to another room.  Leaving the room full of broken machines, gears, and burning fires, Alex ran through the metal door.

Carlos and Kiara managed to sneak around the clashing armies, staying close to Tiki huts and buildings.  They were close to the building that was crushed under the monsters foot, and had run into a redemon on the way there.
"Should we, like, go by him?" Asked Carlos, "he seems to be having a lot of trouble."
The redemon had one foot down, and another pulling against the wall as it used both hands trying to pull it's trident from out of the wall.
"Eh, sure I guess.  I mean he isn't really causing trouble." Said Kiara, already walking past it.
As they passed the redemon it was finally able to pull out it's trident, but flew back and hit it's head on the wall behind it, knocking itself out.
"The more I see of them, the less scary they seem." Kiara commented.
"Not too sure about that." Said Carlos as he followed her while cautiously looking around.
"Of course you aren't, you're scared of everything."
Before Carlos could respond the ground shook.  Right away they both knew what caused it.  Carlos spotted the huge monster running towards them first, and ran past Kiara and out into the open.  Kiara ran after him, and sped upwhen she saw the monster heading towards them.  Kiara was almost to Carlos but the monster was bound to catch her if it continued at that speed.  Carlos stopped up ahead and hurried her, telling her to speed up.  Kiara managed to speed up but tripped over a stick that stuck out of the ground.  She looked at the beast running toward her and it was so close it could step right on her in a few steps.  Instead, it skidded to a stop, and the big, metal machine attached to its back leaked dark steam into the air.  The monster fell.  Kiara hurried back up and caught up with Carlos before the monster started up again.
"That was close.  And weird." Said Kiara, out of breath and still running.
"Its almost like the monster is robotic." Carlos said, also still out of breath.
"Or, it just relies on some kind of robotic enhancements.  That seems more possible."
They continued running and had to go through a part of the Redemon and Nightmare war.  Kiara pushed down on Carlos's shoulder as they ducked under a thrown trident.  Kiara spun out of the way of a redemon swinging it's trident at her, as Carlos jumped over a falling Sharp-Wing.  A shadowman tried throwing shadows at them that they either missed, or was dodged easily.  More than halfway through, a redemon and Sharp-Wing stood in their way.  Carlos came to a full stop and ducked under a redemon's swinging trident.  Kiara kept running and didn't stop.  She jumped up and ran along the Sharp-Wing's body, kicking off it's face into a backflip and landed.  The redemon got ready to stab at Kiara with it's trident, but Carlos ran into it with an elbow and knocked down the redemon.  They ran the rest of the way through the battlefield and continued to the crushed building.

Through the door Alex saw more machines with buttons and screens, all lined up against the metal walls and some placed in the middle of the room.  She started to the door at the other side of the room just as Mare came bursting through the door after her.  He threw shadow at her, and missed hitting the console next to her.  Alex didn't look back to see him, and just kept running.  After dodging Mare's shadows she finally made it to the end of the room and threw open the door.  As she was going through, Jay had ruined Mare's clear shot with a coconut to the face.  Mare's anger was now beyond anything anger management can solve as he threw a flurry of shadows at nothing but ground and machine.  After his tantrum he followed Alex into the next room.  It was the room he was in before when the machine turned on.  He couldn't let her make it to the other end.  He threw shadow at the ground in front of her, cutting her off.  Jay stretched a hand to the ceiling and gripped his hand onto a pipe.  He held on and swung Alex across the gap without slowing down.  Mare growled angrily and flew towards them.  Alex had made it to the end and looked at the machinary in front of her.  She was shocked when she found the lever.  Above it said 'Self Destruct'.
"Didn't know these buttons existed." She said, looking over her shoulder to Jay.
Jay looked back and shrugged.  Alex pulled the lever and a purple light filled the room.
"Self destruct commencing in seven seconds!"  Rung a robotic female voice.
"Seven?" Questioned Alex, "I thought it'd be ten."
Mare laughed and flew up, blowing a hole in the ceiling as he flew out.  Alex found it funny how Mare thought they had no exit, yet he just made them one as he crashed a hole through the ceiling.  Alex went under the hole as Jay stretched his hands up to the edges and launched her up in the air.  Below them, the acid from the monsters stomach bubbled and rose up.  Once in contact with the machines and switches they all blew.  The whole monster's back blew due to it's own stomach acid,  as Jay floated Alex to the ground using a piece of cloth as a parachute.  Jay directed their landing to where they spotted Kiara and Carlos, not to far.
