Meets and Greets

I walked through the double doors not caring the amount of sound I made.  I guess it was the ego boost defeating that Sharp-Wing gave me when I killed it.  I walked up behind the man and said, “Hey-”, but the man obviously heard me because he turned his head in an instant.  He quickly whipped out the cool looking wrench from his lab coat pocket as  I heard Carlos moan in the background, like he was waking up from a long slumber.
“Wha-tha-huh?  Who are you?” The man asked.
Even though I was full of confidence before, the wrench pointed at my face weirdly diminished that.
“I’m Jemeni and that's my brother Carlos over there.” I said quickly due to surprise of the man’s quick reaction, and the wrench he pulled out on me.
“Are you sure?  I don’t see any possible way you got here unless you're one of Mare’s nightmares here to trick me.  How’d you get here?”
“I.. uh, actually I don’t know, there was and explosion in m-”
“Woah, okay, an explosion?  That is the most stupid excuse Mare can tell you guys to say?  You're obviously a fake.”
The man held a button on his wrench and a green light shone through right at me followed by a humming.
“A fake I should get rid of.” He added.
I held my hands up as a block inspired by fear of the blast I predicted to come out of the gun.  My right hand surrounded itself once again with darkness and my sword appeared inside it.  I felt confident once again.  The man seemed to be surprised at what happened and I took an advantage of his shock.  The humming seemed to almost reach its highest point but before the green bolt of energy shot out I hit the wrench out of his hand with my sword and put the end of it up towards the man’s head.
“Now it’s my turn to ask you the questions,” I said with confidence and contempt, ”Who are you, and where am I?  And who-”
“Woah one question at a time please.  And you seriously not knowing who I am, and not killing me tells me your maybe... Not one of Mare’s nightmares.  And to your second question, your in my dimension.  It's a pretty special dimension, with it being so secluded, forgotten and small.  And I’m Tom by the way.”
“Wait are you saying this small space we’re in, is a whole dimension?” Said Carlos, who finally got up.
“Yeah, I know how unbelievable that could be for two young people who just realised this.  But may you please take whatever that thing is out of my face?”
I slowly lowered the sword, and my happiness along with it, "Ugh okay.  So how do we get back out?  Are we like, stuck here?"
The man thought, “How’d you say you got here again?”
I was about to answer until the room illuminated with an alarming red light while an annoying beep continually rang through the room.
“Wha?” I said, confused and alarmed.
The room filled with purple smoke that was pretty hard to see through.  I went to go in some ready stance with my sword until I realised it disappeared from my hand again.  We all looked around while Tom immediately walked to his keyboard in a hurry.
“Ah, poopsticle” he said to himself.
“I swear it was only one Sharp-Wing that I let out… I think one?  Anyways it’s dead now.” I said with confidence.  “You shouldn’t even be allowed in that room, didn’t you see the ‘CAUTION’ sign on the….” Tom trailed off while typing and we all looked on the big screen on the wall.
I didn’t understand a thing that it said.  I think it was a code or something.  Then the screen crackled and all we heard was only a deep voice.
“Ugh, why do you simpletons ALWAYS make these things complicated to use!  Again, the screen is blank!” Said the voice.
A mumble was heard in the background.
“What?  They can hear me?  Ugh, what sounds more menacing, TOM!  Or how about a casual Tom.  Or Tom….  Should I try something new?  Let's go with TOM!  Okay I’m ready.”
The screen came on and Mare along with it.  We all paid full attention to the screen unlike Tom, who was on the keyboard still typing.  I was starting to think he was literally typing completely random combinations of numbers at this point, but I didn’t comment on it.  The background Mare was in was illuminated with red light this time, instead of purple.
“TOM…” Mare said.
Tom completely ignored him and continued on his keyboard.  Mare seemed to find this  hurtful.
“Did you… Did you hear me?  You don’t seem to be.. You know...  Cowering... in fear.  What I’m trying to get too is that you should be scared of me.  Because, you know, one reason is I have your dau-”
Tom finally paid his attention to him and interrupted his sentence. “Yea but I’m gonna get her back, and I’m not even a tiny bit scared of you.  Nor should I be.”
“Awe, so sad to hear.  I can, however, just give her to you,” Mare said, as Tom started on the keyboard again, “If… you promise to stay out of my plans.”
“What makes you think I’d follow through?” Tom responded.
“That’s not the only thing I want.  I want the map.”
“The map?  I’m not even entirely sure that the place on that map is even real, Mare.”
“I honestly don’t care, I think I’ll find that out myself.”
My curiosity had sparked when they mentioned a map.
“I care, and I’m not going to agree to something that’ll endanger every living, even nonliving, thing in this universe.  So don’t even think about trying to get the map from me, and give me my dau-” I interrupted Tom without thinking, asking the question that's been burning with curiosity inside my head.
“A map?  To where?”
“Uh, hm, its an abandoned dreamaverse.  Its cut off from all the rest. It’s not a map too it, but a map of it.  And the map I have is old and ripped up, its barely even readable.  But if this dreamaverse is actually real, it has unbelievable power hidden inside.  Power that needs to be kept away, from people like Mare.  Its unnamed right now, but, I’m thinking of Dreamega.  I think that name sounds pretty awesome... And accurate to how mega powerful it is.” Explained Tom.
“Oooo, that sounds awesome!  The whole other world part, not the name you came up with.  If it were up to me, I’d call it the Jemaverse.  Sounds better.” I suggested.
“No, no, no!  Those names are just horrible and extremely idiotic!  It should be called the Mareverse or Marescape, somewhere along those lines,” Mare said, “ And those kids, the red and green shirted ones, the black one and white one, they should be dead already!  Two times by now, you two have escaped death!  By me!  Heh, but this third time...  This third, final time, should be your last.”
Mare had a smile on his face and It sounded like air was being released somewhere.  It took me a moment to realise where the sound was coming from.  Tom had a shocked expression on his face.
“Haha, so how good did that evil phrase sound, that I said a while ago…” said Mare to a shadowman in the background, “really good huh?  YOU WILL BE DESTROYED FOR SUCH AN INSULT!  It was eviiil and bad!  Nothing I say is ever good!” Mare said, turning his back towards the screen.
He threw a flame of shadows at the shadowman, making it go poof, into a clearing cloud of shadow.  He turned back to watch us with a devilish smile.  Tom took some sort of a laser gun from his pocket and threw it to Carlos barely caught it.
“I need you guys to hold off his nightmares while I teleport this room into another rift between dimensions.  It’ll only take a few, don’t worry,” Tom said going back to typing.
“Hold what off?” Carlos asked, confused and scared.
And within a few seconds the first Sharp-Wing flew through the door.  It was identical to the first one I beat.
“Oh shoot!” Said Carlos.
He tried a few shots and missed on each one as the Sharp-Wing ran towards him.
I had to do something, but my sword didn’t come back.  I tried shaking my hand and arm around, different positions, opening and closing my hand, it still didn’t return.  And the Sharp-Wing was nearing Carlos, I had to do something and quick.  Not knowing anything else to do I jumped in front of Carlos and held out my right hand toward the Sharp-Wing.
It was frightening when nothing seemed to have happened for the first few seconds.  But just in time, shadows surrounded my hand and shaped into the shape of my sword.  I closed my hand and it materialised and the Sharp-Wing unfortunately didn’t have enough time to react.  It ran straight into my darkened sword.  Lord Mare lost his smile on the screen and stared at me in disbelief.  Actually, he was more so staring at my sword, rather than me.  Three more Sharp-Wings emerged from the double doors and ran at me, as I ran towards them.
