Kiara tried pulling the rusty lever, hoping it'd open the hatch. She tried pulling as hard as she could, it wouldn't budge.
"I need some help!" She called.
As I was busy handling the Screechers, Carlos swam over to help. They each gripped the lever and pulled, the lever not moving even an inch. After a while of trying, the lever broke off.
"Aw what?!" Whined Carlos.
Kiara reached in her bag for something as Carlos sulked. I looked down at my sword, bending and waving in the water. I didn't really care, as long as it did it's job I found it fine. I whipped it towards the nearest Screecher and watched the tip of my sword extend. It whipped over and through the Screecher, making it poof into a fading white cloud. The other two closed in as two more followed behind them.
"Hurry up guys!" I yelled.
Kiara took out a brown, big cylinder from her bag, along with a blaster looking thing. I didn't mind to look closer, knowing there I was surrounded by unknown, underwater creatures that most likely wanted them for lunch. I reached down and turned on the rocket shoes and rocketed myself towards the Screechers. I went past them and they turned away from Kiara and Carlos to come after me. I flipped upside down and flew over the Screechers. I turned on the air shooting glove, also given to us by Tom, and bent back my arm. I thrusted my hand forward, shooting a powerful blast of air at two of the Screechers below me. They went twirling deep down into the water until they weren't in sight. The other two Screechers came towards me, and I turned off my glove and readied my darkened sword. I sliced downward on one, making it poof in a cloud of white, and spun out of the others way as it done toward me. It flew past me and came flying back. We flew towards each other and I extended my sword out in front of me. The Screecher ran into it, and I speed through, joining Kiara and Carlos, just as the explosion happened.
Tom, watching the sensors that he put on us while eating a plate of shrimp cocktail, was sitting comfortably in a chair in front of the boat. He thought they'd be fine, until one by one, the sensors disappeared. Tom freaked and logged on the communication watches on their wrists.
"Kiara? Jem? Guys, what's happening down there are you okay?!" Tom said hurredly and concerned.
He'd go in after them, but he knew it'd be a horrible idea. All he could do was wait. Or was it all he could do? He ran into the boat and dug through a bunch of boxes till he found a red button with a black antenna. He pressed a black button on the side and static came in.
"Jem? Please answer, are you guys okay?" He said, worryingly.
No response. He felt tears about to come in. But the static stopped.
"Aww," said a joyful voice, "The mad scientist, who sent us kids deep into an unknown ocean, and now caring about our safety. How sweet." I said, laughing. I woke up on a beach shore, with Carlos and Kiara safe and unconscious laying on the sand.
"Stop joking, I was worried. Where's my daughter?" Said Tom.
"Right here." I responded.
"Can I talk to her?" He asked.
"Well yeah, maybe when she's little less unconscious though."
"Unconscious?!"
"Yeah, I think using the explosives was a bit overkill."
"Explosives?!?!"
"Yup, I can tell why you wouldn't let me or Carlos use them now."
"She's okay?"
"Who?"
"Oh my..." Tom sighed, "the only she there!"
"Oh, right, Kiara."
"Is she?"
"Is she what?"
"IS SHE-"
"Calm yourself, I'm joking," I laughed, "but yeah she's okay."
"... Good... Now where are you guys?"
"On a beach or something. I'm not really sure."
"Well look around, what do you see?"
I looked at my surroundings and heard Carlos moan. The sky was blue and the clouds perfectly placed. Beyond the sand was dried sand, that led into freshly short, cut grass. To my right and left the sand stretched along the sides. On the ground to my right was a huge crack, opening, cutting through the sand, all the way to the grass, and kept going.
"Hm..." I said, "we seem to be on a big, island."
"What, there is no island up here!" Said Tom, impatient and frustrated.
"Underwater island?"
"How's that even possible?"
"Not really sure myself, but by now I'm guessing anything is possible."
I heard mumbling in the distance, and saw a bush rustle.
"I, uh, I gotta go." I said, and put the red button in my jean pocket.
I got up and tried forming the darkened sword in my hand. A shadowy spark erupted in my hand, and the sword didn't come out.
"What?" I whispered to myself.
I shook my hand and tried again. The same thing happened, but a wave of pain fell went through my hand. I looked back up at the bush, but it was gone. I looked around, and turned to look behind me. I saw a brown blur, heard high pitched laughter, then everything went dark.
