"Ha!" I said after beating Carlos in another game.
"No fair!" He said.
"All is fair in war!" I laughed.
It was 7PM and Carlos looked extremely tired.
"Bedtime!" My mom yelled.
"Comeon mom!  I'm sixteen!" I argued.
"And I'm a thousand and seventeen, get to bed."
"Okay..." I sighed.
I got in the shower first, then my brother.  And we both went to bed.  I was getting used to waking up in the lab, it didn't surprise me as much as it used to.  I walked out of my teletube to see Tom at the computer.
"Hey Tom!" I said.
"Hey," he responded, not looking back, "I have a mission for you two."
Kiara walked in through the double doors on the right with glasses on and a clipboard in hand.
"Hey, Jem." She said.
"Hey Kiara.  I have a question."
"Shoot." She said.
"So, at this time, do I say good morning, or goodnight?"
"Uh, morning, I guess."
"Oh okay."
"Why ask that?"
"So next time I come in I can say something like, morning guys.  It feels natural."
"Oooh, okay."
Carlos appeared in his tube next to mine.
"Ahem!" Tom said making us all look, "I have a mission for you three."
"Awesome!" I exclaimed.
"What is it?" Kiara asked.
"I found Mare, he's heading to some other dimension, no doubt trying to get his hands on one of the gems."
"Where is he?" Asked Kiara.
Carlos got out of his tube to join us.
"Not sure about this dimension.  Never been there.  It doesn't seem to inhabit any humans... So if you go, be careful of the species." Answered Tom.
"Got it," I assured, "Let's go!"
"Okay then, so eager Jem." Said Tom.
"Yea," I said, "It'll be fun!"
"If going blindly into danger is fun to you, then be my guest." Tom responded.
We got in our teletubes and Kiara decided to share mine.  Tom said it was completely safe for two people to be in one teletube.  He pressed a button and all I saw was pure white all around me.  The light faded and I was standing on a weird road that looked a couple feet too small.  I looked at Kiara next to me.
"Woah, your like 7 feet tall compared to, like, everything here!" I exclaimed.
"Same to you."
"Whaaat?"
Carlos appeared next to me.
We were on a sidewalk next to what seemed like a soda machine.  Carlos walked over to examine it.
"Spindex... Soda," He read, "Interesting."
Behind the soda machine was a tall, yellow building with a 5ft brown, tall door and many tinted windows.  About the exact same buildings were lined up along the street.  We were on a three-way street facing the one road ahead.
"In what way?" I asked.
"Not sure, in a curious way I guess."
We looked up at the blue, semi-cloudy skies.  They seemed to get darker and darker.
"I guess that's where Mare's gonna come in." Said a voice from behind me.
I looked behind me to see a pink circle with ears, two arms, two legs, a mouth, tail and eyes.
"Holy poop!" I exclaimed.
"Ahhh!" Said the duck next to her.
"Hm?" Said the Tikkian.
"This doesn't seem to be possible." Said Carlos.
"Uh, there aren't supposed to be humans here, right?" Said the shadow next to her.
They all got into a fighting ready stance.
"Hold up," said Kiara, "That's a Tikkian... If I found out correctly, Mare had already..."
"Yea he did," Said the Tikkian, "I'm Kiki, the only one left."
"Wait, so are these the good guys too?" Asked Carlos.
"Yeah," Kip answered, "We are."
"Oh, okay.  Cool." Carlos said awkwardly.
"So what are we going to do?" I asked.
"Well, me and Dill," Kiki answered, "We're gonna go check something out real quick, and I guess Kip will cover us... Hmm.  I'm trusting you guys to, stop any the impending invasion that Mare's gonna send here.  Make sure noone gets hurt."
"Actually," Dill started to say, "If you see a duck with a mohawk or a tattoo of an anchor on their arm, they can take care of themselv-"
"Noone, gets hurt." Kiki said, eying Dill.
They walked off down the sidewalk and I heard Dill complaining, "But-"
"Nothing," Kiki responded, and they kept talking as they made their way down the street.
Kip caught us all by surprise as he phased down into the sidewalk, only with a shadow to mark his location, and headed after Dill and Kiki.
"Woah." Was all I said.
"Think we can trust them?" Asked Carlos looking at Kiara for approval.
"Hm... I trust the Tikkian, and maybe the duck, but not that shadow.  Life experiences tell me to never trust a shadow." She explained while watching the shadow go off.
The sky grew even more black than before as a blue car, hovering above the ground with a female duck inside, drove by.
"What about me?  I'm somewhat basically kind of a shadow.  I think."
"Well, your different."
"Oh..." I said back, "Cool!"
Kiara's gaze turned to the sky, and Carlos's and my own followed.
"He's coming." She said.
"Yup." Said Carlos.
"You ready?" She asked.
"Probably not." Said Carlos.
"Most definitely!" I said right after with much enthusiasm.
Black dots flew down from the sky, then tan, then a couple grey.
"Great, let's go then." Said Kiara as she led the way.  We headed down the single road and stopped when Lord Mare flew in front of us.  He stopped and floated about 20ft off the ground and 20 steps away from us.
"You three," Mare said with easily seen hatred, "I might call back my Nightmares if you were to tell me where the blue gem is... If you refuse, my forces destroy you, the planet, and everything else in the universe."
"No way we're telling you!" Said Kiara.
"Hmmm, lemme think about this," I joked, "Seems like a pretty good deal."
"Yes... A very good deal.  Will you accept?" Said Mare with a huge, devilish smile.
"Sure," I said, "I'm pretty sure it's lost in that big ego of yours if I'm not mistaken."
Mare's smile changed to an expression of anger as he took a left, flying away from us.
"In his dignity." Kiara imitated, laughing.
She started forward again and Carlos and I followed.  We stopped at a split in the street that formed a square around a plot of green.  We saw about ten ducks running and screaming as a Sharp-Wing stood in the middle screeching at them.  There were two, round robotic things I haven't seen before, each on two sides of a green park bench, and four shadowmen floating around, scaring ducks away.  The two new Nightmares were tan and round with eight, very skinny legs, four in each side.  On their right side they had four, black eyes and their left had one, red robotic eye.  On it's left side of it's back that went around and covered the top left of it's head was a silver metal, robotic attachment that it's left eye was attached too.  There were meters and gauges on it and a bendable pipe that attached from the top left side of it's back to the middle.  And I'm pretty sure I just witnessed a red laser shoot from it's robotic eye.  One of them turned towards us and I readied my Darkened sword in my hand, Kiara took out her blaster, and Carlos took out one of his own Tom had given him.  And a fight began.
