I couldn't tell if i was still unconscious, or if the room was just dark. I felt my eyes were open, and heard a moan that sounded like Carlos's.
"Carlos?" I asked.
"Jem?" He responded.
I couldn't move my hands from behind my back, nor get up from my sitting position.
"I can't move." Said Carlos.
"Neither can I." I said back.
"Huh? Guys?" Said a feminine voice.
"Kiara? Oh, Tom was worried about you." I said.
"Where are we?" Asked Kiara.
"Not sure," I said, "but we should try escaping. Carlos is scared of the dark."
"Heyyy!" Protested Carlos, "I'm not afraid of anything anymore." He said confidently.
"Sure." I said sarcastically, holding in a laugh.
"AHHH, A KILLER CLOWN!!!" I yelled.
"WHAT?! WHERE?!" Carlos yelled, scared.
I felt whatever I was sitting on shake and move. We were tied together.
"HE'S COMING FOR US!" I yelled back.
"AHH!" Carlos yelled.
The chair shook violently from Carlos and I used all my strength to pull in the other direction. The rope on my legs broke and I jumped up. I jumped again, pulling my knees up and jump roped over my hands. I tried the darkened sword again and my hands sparked with shadow. The sparks cut through the rope, and I was free.
"Jem? Where'd you go?" Question Kiara.
"Where's the clown!?!?" Said Carlos, scared and in panic.
"There is no clown, and I can't see where you guys are." I said.
"Try and find a light." Said Kiara.
"Meanie." Said Carlos, calming down.
I walked forward until I hit face first into a wall.
"Ah, ouch!"
"What were you thinking, it's pitch black, feel with you arms not your head!" Kiara criticized.
A door opened behind me as I was about to whine back. Light poured into the room, revealing its yellow, square walls, and Carlos, Kiara, and an empty chair tied together. I was on the ground, now looking up at the person who opened the door. It was a white, blond haired, teenage girl with blue eyes wearing a black hoodie and jeans. By her side was a small creature, holding a nature made machete but together with wood, stone and grass. The girl had on a blue backpack and was holding a long stick that she seemed to use as a cane. She looked at me, and turned towards the creature.
"These were the Intruders?" She said, in almost a laugh.
The creature nodded with it's head that was covered by a carved mask. The mask looked like coconut and had a mouth and eyes carved into it. It had no body, it's skinny noodle-like arms and legs came from out of its head, along with the three leaves sticking out from the top of its head. It looked almost like a seed.
"They look almost harmless. You didn't have to tie them up." The girl laughed.
"Harmless? Let me out and I'll show you harmless." Said Kiara angrily.
"Woah," I said to Kiara while getting up, "let's not get too aggressive."
"Who are you guys?" Asked the girl.
"Uh, I'm not sure who 'you guys' is, but hopefully you can go find that out yourself." I said, walking over to Kiara and Carlos.
Before reaching them, the small creature ran and jumped on top of me, knocking me down. It held the machete up to me.
"Jay, off," she said, and the creature hopped off me, "now, who are you?"
"I'm Jemeni," I said, getting back up, "but you can call me Jem. We're here to.. uh.. why are we here?"
"To find a corruption or something?" Kiara answered.
"A corruption? Pfft. Biggest like I've heard." Said the girl.
The ground shook violently.
"Okay, maybe not the biggest."
I untied Kiara first, then the terrified Carlos.
"There's no clowns here right?" He asked.
The girl laughed and straightened her face in confusion when realizing he was serious.
"Clowns... Why would there be clowns?" The girl asked.
"You can ignore his comment," Said Kiara, standing up, "who are you?"
"I'm Alex," said the girl, "and this is Jay." She said, pointing at the creature.
"Jay? What is it?" Asked Kiara.
"We should be asking where we are." Carlos interrupted.
"He's a tiki thing I guess. Theres tons of them living here, all serving me." Alex said proudly.
"So where are we?" Carlos repeated.
"Serving you, like a queen or?" Kiara questioned.
"Yea kinda like a queen. And they do anything I ask basically. I think it's maybe because, I'm the only human here or something? Jay is the... Only one I named so far. He's my favorite." Alex explained.
Jay nodded his head happily. She opened the door wider and gestured us to come out.
"Where are you guys! Jem, answer!" Said a voice from my pocket.
I took out the button and answered, "on some kind of island I think."
"You told me that last time!"
"Dad?" Kiara asked, happy to hear his voice.
"Who?" Said Alex in confusion.
"Oh, it's my dad." Kiara explained.
She walked over to Alex and started catching her up on stuff as Carlos and I talked to Tom.
"On an island, full of tiki things." I continued.
"Tikkians?? They're extinct!"
"Nooo, different species." Said Carlos.
"Oh, okay. Anything suspicious, bad, evil?" Asked Tom.
"No... Not really." I answered.
The ground shook violently and almost took us off our feet.
"Well... I guess that's a little suspicious." I added.
"Okay, well have a look around and make sure to get a good layout of the island. I want you to try and find out where those tremors are coming from."
"Aye aye captain." I responded, then Tom was gone.
I put the button back in my pocket and we walked to the door where Alex and Kiara were talking.
"Shouldn't it be aye captain? Instead of aye aye?" I asked Carlos.
"Why would you think that?" He questioned back.
"Because, don't most of them have an eye patch? And have only one eye? Haha... Get it?" I joked.
Carlos shook his head, disappointed at my cringeworthy attempt of a joke.
We reached the girls as Kiara was talking about our travelling through nightmares. She stopped when we approached and Alex held the door open for us. We walked out onto the stone path, and were introduced by bright blue skies and man-made huts made of wood and straw.
