There was black all around me. Wait, nevermind, there was a light. It’s a star? Wait, no. A pentagon? The light changed shapes while I was thinking about me most likely dying in that explosion in the bathroom. I didn’t really want to accept being dead, I was still young. Then again, not that young, I’m pretty sure I saw my first armpit hair starting to grow last night. Before I could think about anymore the light grew bigger and I felt my body again. I opened my eyes, then closed them again, then opened them once more. I got up feeling dizzy and almost falling over but I caught a wall before I did. It took me a long while to realize I wasn’t in the bathroom anymore. I looked up at my surroundings and noticed I was in a living room sized metal room. I was in the back corner of the room inside of some transparent plastic tube. In the corner next to mine was another tube, with Carlos lying unconscious inside. I felt confused and really hoped he was okay but I did see him breathing. I looked toward the front of the room and froze.
“Ugh! No, all wrong, this has to be melted. Glue won’t work, inventing is so hard.” Said the guy sitting in a blue rolling chair in the front of the room.
He was working on a desk that stretched from one side of the room to the other. He mumbled some more stuff I couldn’t hear from under his breath. He didn’t seem to have noticed me, and I want to keep it that way until I know who he is. I silently walked out of my plastic tube thing and saw a pair of double doors I decided to go through. It said “CAUTION” in big letters but if that guy is a killer, It’d probably be a trick so I wouldn’t escape through it. Also the only other door which was to my left had a passcode lock on it. And I obviously wouldn’t know the code. I got halfway through staring at the man making sure he wouldn’t turn around anytime soon. A piece of paper crumpled under my foot and I jumped to the sound. Surprisingly, the guy didn’t even glance. He continued fidgeting with something on his desk. I took the time to examine the things on his desk and most I didn’t recognise and were scraps of material. The only things I did have knowledge about on his desk were the keyboard and mouse. I looked up at the big screen built into the wall above the desk. Displayed on the screen was a map of three square, floating islands. The third seemed endless and was purple while the first and second were the same size. However, the details on the map were extremely blurry, I couldn’t tell what any of it was or meant. There was a picture on his desk that caught my eye. In it was the old man on the desk, looking less like a man who hasn’t been sleeping for weeks. Him with his spiky gray and white hair that looked as if it were caught in multiple explosions. His green eyes and shaved gray facial hair and goggles above his head really added to the mad scientist look. What really completes the look was the white lab coat with a yellow stain on the left side of it. On the top right of his lab coat was a pocket with a green, red, blue and black pen sticking out, and in his left lower pocket was what looked like an awesomely decorated head of a wrench sticking out. With his lab coat unbuttoned I could see the green T-shirt he was wearing really matched his green jeans. He wasn’t the only one in the picture. He had his arm wrapped around a girl in a fatherly hug. They both smiled and in my opinion I thought the sun reflecting off the girl’s perfectly white teeth added to her gorgeousness just as much as her perfectly combed blond hair. She had green eyes just like the old man beside her, except I found hers harder to look away from. She had on a dark pink shirt with a design of a cat made by a lighter shade of the darker pink. She wore blue jeans and looked around my age, a teenager. The background was something I’ve never seen before. I thought it had to be a green screen but then again the lab-like surroundings I’ve never seen anything like before either. They were on some metal platform with square holes that only a penny could fit through. It kinda reminded me of what those fire escapes on the side of tall buildings looks like. There were railings on both sides to most likely protect people from falling off the hazardous looking liquid under them. It was more like goo than a liquid. The surface was splotches of mostly green and purple goo with a short amount of yellow too. The goo seemed to spread on forever and the sky and background was just plain black. Besides the purple smoke in the top corner of the picture. Not sure what was making the smoke, but it did look abnormal. I took my eyes off the picture and continued walking towards the double doors. I decided to let Carlos get some rest and lay there, I didn’t want to cause any noise waking him up. I’d come and get him once I’d find the way out of this place. I managed to reach the double doors without alerting the man and then rethought my decision of going through these doors. What if it said caution for a reason? Should I really go through with this? My thought dismissed when I couldn’t think of anything else I’d want to do, so I opened the double doors and walked in as silent as possible.
