Mare was astounded. He was shocked at what he saw as a weapon that could make him more powerful than he could ever imagine. He wanted that sword. Watching that kid slice through his Sharp-Wings with ease was unbelievable. He needed to get rid of that kid before he became another one of his formidable enemies. He could see it coming. He smiled as he saw a Sharp-Wing sneak past the slaughtering of his kind. That had been a Sharp-Wing he implanted there, and it was succeeding in the job Mare had given it. He watched it sneak to the desk without notice of the others who were busy with multiple Sharp-Wings flying through those double doors. It opened up a drawer under the desk and took its objective and gave a signal to Mare. Seconds later the Sharp-Wing was teleported out of Tom's lab before being noticed. And Mare found a deal Tom would likely agree too. Tom didn't want to let anything to distract him from making Mare lose to location to his lab. The Sharp-Wing fight going on certainly didn't help, and when Mare had started talking to him didn't help either.
"Hey... Tomcat... I'm talking to you..." Said Mare, but Tom ignored him.
"Do you want your kid back or nah?"
Tom froze.
"I have a deal for you." Mare said.
"How many times can I say it, till it goes through your probably nonexistent shadow skull, I'm never going to give you the map!" Tom said.
"It's not the map I want... I want those kids over there, in exchange for your daughter. How does that sound?"
"Do you have a kidnapping addiction or something? What do you want them for?"
"My matters are my own. But let me ask you, would you rather have two, immature, young strangers you barely know? Or your only part of your family you have left?"
Mare smiled watching Tom thinking to himself.
"Fine," Tom said finally, "You can have them, where do you want me to send them?"
"Hmmm, the factory I guess, and they better be there."
"Alrighty they will be. I am an honest person, aren't I?"
The Sharp-Wings were low in numbers by now. And I was doing awesome. I found it pretty fun, and I saw Carlos getting better with his aim. Two Sharp-Wings were left, and one came at me, charging its left arm back for a strike. Once it reached me I stepped to its left, dodging it's strike, and cut the lower half of its metal arm off. Green acid from its injury started eating the rest of the creature's arm. It flailed its tiny part of its arm it had left as I spun around, my sword making contact with the back of its neck. I sliced off its head and the green light of it's robotic left eye dimmed, flickered, then turned off. The last Sharp-Wing seemed to have some human emotion, since it considered it's chances and stepped backwards in fear. I was thinking on letting it go but a shot was fired and Carlos got his first successful headshot. Carlos and I looked back at the screen and Mare was gone and I felt the room shake a little.
"What was that?" Carlos questioned.
"We switched locations, nothing bad. It would take Mare forever to try and pinpoint our location now," Tom answered proudly, then thought for a moment. "But I need to ask you guys a favor... I know you barely know me, but Mare has Kiara, my daughter. He said he'll give her back to me if I hand you two over to him for some reason, and I agreed."
"Understandable." I commented.
"Debatable." Said Carlos.
"But I have a plan," Tom continued, "you two will go to where Mare asked, beat his henchmen, and rescue Kiara, that is if you agree."
Me and Carlos answered at the same time.
"Yes!" I said.
"Nooooo!" Said Carlos.
"Come on, it'll be fun, and it'd be pretty dangerous to go alone. Because I will go alone." I argued.
Carlos sighed after thinking to himself, "Ugh, fine..."
Tom smiled, "Great! Glad you two could agree! Now if you're ready you guys can step inside of those teletubes in your corners there, and I'll teleport you to your destination."
