I struggled with the door and it wouldn't budge. The Nightmare already made it here. I walked back and a wooden arm grew from the door attempting to grab at me. I was out of it's reach but I looked behind me at another noise. There we're stairs and a drawer across from them whose drawer's were shaking open. I ran up the rumbling stairs and saw a window. Before I could think about it the window was replaced by wood wall. I tried opening one of the room doors but it was locked. Taking some effort I materialized the darkened sword into my hand and cut a hole open and jumped through. ANOTHER WINDOW.
"Home, sweet, home!" I said as I ran towards an open window.
The window was sealing up but that didn't matter. I jumped while spinning, holding my sword toward the window as it cut a hole big enough to fit through. I jumped through the hole and landed the long fall to the outside ground. There was a vibration in my pocket. I took it out and looked at what Zoe sent.
'Wanda did tell me that she and that other guy found something.'
'What waz it?' I typed quickly.
I was running across a road to another house.
'Um, a book, she left it were it was, in a drawer in a house.'
'what mouse???' I typed. Then I realised my greatest enemy was here.
Autocorrect.
'Ugh! Whyyyy autocorrect!'
'Haha, not sure, blue.'
'A blue house?'
'Yea, my fav color.'
'Okay, thx.'
I put the phone in my pocket and ran towards the blue house in front of me. I somersaulted out of the way of a wall smacking down at the ground where I was. I almost lost my footing, but quickly regained it and kept running. I reached the brown, wood door and I jumped and kicked it off it's hinges. The walls on the inside hallway reached for me but I rolled through them and went up the stairs. The house layouts all seem the same. There were four rooms upstairs and I chose the first one. I ran up to it and made contact with the doorknob. Before I could turn it a block rose from the door and hit me the the door on it's opposite side. I got up and dodged left at a spike forming from a wall and saw the desk and a mirror. There was a drawer in the desk. Big enough for a book. I jumped to avoid another spike and a hand came up and pulled me down. I held on to the desk and made it fall on it's back. I rolled to avoid another spike and got up before a spike rised up in front of me. I opened the desk drawer and took the book as a spike from the wall came right towards me. I held to book up to it and it stopped in it's place, then fell to the floor like liquid.
"Woah, intense." I said breathing heavily.
I took out the phone.
'Thx Zoe, found it. Not ded! :P'
Moments later a response came back.
'Np xD.'
I put the phone back in my pocket and walked down the stairs. I heard static coming from my pocket and took out the button.
"Jem! Can't believe your still alive! That was amazing," Tom's voice said, "Just set the Campoints anywhere u want. I'll send Kiara and Carlos there with you when your ready."
"Wait, you could've talked to me this whole time?"
"Yes..."
"Why not tell me?!"
"Well, your brother informed me on how much you like surprises."
"Hm... Fair point."
The button stopped illuminating red, which I guess meant Tom wasn't listening or talking through it anymore. I continued to walk out of the house and examined the book that in a way saved my life. 'THE BOOK OF GEMS' was the title.
I laughed, "Looks like a children's book."
It was old and brown and really thick. Around the title were four, empty sockets. The top one, which had a red dot in the middle and was round. The left had a triangular one with a green dot in it's middle. The one to the right with a blue dot and was square. And the last one on the bottom was a white dot and rectangular. I tried to open the book, but it seemed stuck. Even with my enhanced strength I have it still wouldn't open. But the red dot on top started glowing.
"What the... This thing doesn't even open." I exclaimed.
I was at the bridge heading to the Jemusement Park.
"Gems... Gems..." I thought for a while.
"Gemgemgems... Jem! Jem, eni. Me, myself in I... Jem, eni."
I started making a singsong out of it while I examined the book closer.
"Hey Jem," Said Tom from the button inside my pocket, "You ready?"
I zoned back in to my objective, "Oh, no, not yet."
"What was that object that didn't belong?" He asked.
"Oh, nothing just a book of Gems."
"THE Book of Gems?"
"Yes... That's what I said."
"No, there's a huge difference of what you said."
"I don't see a difference at all."
"You see, a book of gems would be useless unless they were THE Gems. But The Book of Gems would be an extremely powerful book. The person in possession of the book and each gem that goes in it can have total power in the Dreamaverse dimension. So, yeah, HUGE difference."
"Oh..." I said, "Now I kinda see the difference."
