The Capture of The Guardians

I was expecting another nightmare, but my expectation was false.
"Hm? Why are we back?" Kiara asked Tom.
We were back in the lab, and Tom was in his chair at his desk, facing us.  I was also confused.
"I need you guys to check something, in a dreamaverse that hasn't been able to be breached by Mare." Said Tom.
"The-"
"No, not the Jemaverse," Tom said before I could finish, "it's like it though, yes."
"But, we're supposed to be stopping the nightmares, aren't we?" Carlos questioned.
"Yeah!  Millions of people are in danger!" Kiara added in.
"Which is why we're tackling the problem at it's source.  I found something.  I don't know what, but I've materialized and prepared a boat, underwater gear and all that stuff." Explained Tom.
"Ooo, we're going underwater?!" I said, excited.
"YOU HAVE A BOAT?!" Yelled Carlos with excitement I've never seen before.
"Uh," said Tom, "yes and yes."
"Nice!" I said.
"AMAZING!" Carlos screamed.
"Hm?"
"I LOVE BOATS!"
"Since when?" I asked.
"Since when not?"
"That answer didn't make any sense."
"Wow, you must be proud to be such an influence to me." Said Carlos sarcastically.
"Why in fact I am." I said proudly.
"But why do you like boats so much?" Asked Tom, curious.
"Boats are around the world, studying and researching.  And they find and store many information I wish to one day study and get to know.  I don't know, boring stuff."
I purposefully yawned and Kiara responded by saying, "yes, boring indeed.  So what do we need to do?"
"I'll explain to you on the boat.  Stay in your teletubes, I'm sharing Carlos's."
"Who's gonna do the thingy to teleport us?" I asked.
"No need, I invented a button." Said Tom, both happy and proud.
He pressed the button and my head felt like it was stabbed in the back with a knife.  My vision went away, I saw all white.  Then green and purple streaks flew across my sight, and my vision cleared.  I was on top of purple rocks, and was stumbling forward.  I fell on my hands and knees and saw the purple rock covering the ground.
"Huh?  Where's the boat?"
I looked up and saw a rabbit-eared, white furred figure with a green cloth wrapped around his head.  He turned to face me and claws grew from his fingers.  In front of him I saw Red.  The rabbit-eared figure stepped towards me and I backed away.
"Greeny, no.  He's a friend." Said Red.
The creature named Greeny retracted his claws and backed away.
"Who's this?" Said a voice similar to Red's.
"D-did that spider, on your shoulder just... Talk?!" I asked.
"He's an ally of mine.  He knows the new guardian of the blue gem.  And he's also delusional.  Can't forget about the delusional part." Said Red.
"I'm not delusional!" I exclaimed.
"He does seem most certainly delusional.  How'd you pick that up so easily?" Said the talking orange spider resting on his shoulder.
"He was talking to a building." Red responded.
"I'm not, ugh." I sighed.
"That is something a delusional person would do." Said the spider.
"Ugh."
"Most indeed." Red agreed.
"So, who are you guys?" I asked.
"These are the guardians." Said Red.
"I'm Whitey," said the spider, "white gem."
"And he's Freddy." Said Red, pointing at the creature in front of me.
"Green... Gem..." Said Greeny, with a raspy voice, like it was difficult or painful to speak.
"Oh co-"
"DUCK!" Yelled Whitey urgently, interrupting me.
We all ducked down and a wave of darkness flew above my head.
"Woah." I exclaimed.
I turned around and saw Mare, and an army of shadowmen behind him.  I readied my darkened sword and faced toward him.  He launched his hand back, about to form a ball of shadow, then brought it down and froze.
"...Jemeni?  I... I thought you'd be stopping my nightmares I spread across the world... I made it pretty obvious." Said Mare.
"And I thought you'd realize that everyone would benefit from you shutting up, so I guess we're even on that." I countered.
Mare showed a flash of anger in his face and launched a ball of darkness at me.  I jumped to the side and ran towards him with Greeny, Whitey, and Red coming in behind me.  I jumped and swung my sword downward at Mare, and he stood completely still.  He let me hit him, and sparks of darkness crackled upon contact.  A force knocked both of us back and I landed on the ground back first.  Mare was only pushed back, but still floating.  I got up and watched the guardians run by me at Mare.  Mare flicked them each aside and floated slowly toward me.  He launched a ball of shadow that I dodged my rolling to the side.  The ball of shadow burst the rocks next to me into pieces.  Mare held his hands close together and continued coming closer.
"I think we can both agree, all would benefit from you keeping your mouth shut." Said Mare, now smiling as a ball of darkness was collecting inbetween his hands.
I braced myself and closed my eyes, but opened them when nothing happened.  The cave was gone.  Now I was in a boat, surrounded by nothing but water.
