I sighed, my fingers tightening around the steering wheel as I stared at the house in front of me.
When Stiles explained to me what had happened once he arrived and then having to watch the look on Allison's face when she looked at me as she left, I knew something happened.
We were in a strange place right now and I wanted to make things better. I felt guilty for not being there for her when her mother died, I can't even imagine how she's dealing with everything so I swallowed my pride and drove to her place in a mission to fix our friendship.
"Now or never," I mumbled to myself before leaving my car, locking in behind me as I walked to her doorstep.
I knocked once, taking a step back after as I waited.
Mr. Argent opened the door and I could see the surprise in his eyes.
"Emily,"
"Hey, Mr. Argent," I gave him a tight smile. "Is Allison home?"
"She's in her room," he opened the door further, "Do you want to come in?"
"Thank you," I entered before turning to him. It was awkward.
"You can go there if you want," he said and quickly nodded.
"Yeah," I made my way to the stairs but stopped when I remembered. "Uh, Mr. Argent?"
He turned to look at me, "I'm sorry for your loss"
I could see the pain radiating from his eyes as he was caught out of guard. He nodded, the smallest smile I have ever seen greeted his lips as he said, "Thank you"
I replied with the same smile before I walked upstairs, making my way right to Allison's room. I knocked softly, entering when I heard a 'come in'.
Her room was different, less... girly I guess. I found Allison sitting on her bed, a book on her hands when she looked up.
"Emily?" her brows furrowed as she looked at me, closing her book.
"Hey," I quietly said. We stared at each other for a few moments before she questioned again.
"Uh... What are you doing here?"
"I," I breathed, "I came to see you. Talk to you,"
"Okay," she put her book on the bed by her side before inviting me to sit down. I sat on the other end of the bed, a few feet away from her.
"I-I'm sorry," I broke the silence, "For being such a bad friend"
I turned to look at her, she looked a little tired, her face showing a bit of confusion at me.
"What are you talking about?"
"I've been awful Allison. I was so self-centered and worried only about me and what was going on with myself that I didn't take time to see around me. I didn't care about your reasons for hiding things from me and while I still don't like you did it, I understand. And I'm sorry for the things I said and for not being there for you when you needed. I'm really sorry,"
I saw her tearing eyes, but I didn't do anything, waiting to see her answer. A tear slipped down her cheek before she threw her arms around me. I hugged her back immediately.
"I'm sorry too," she said. "I should have told you, I know that. But, I don't know, I just- I felt like I should protect you and Lydia"
I nodded, "It's okay," we leaned back, "It's okay," I sighed. "Now it's inevitable, I'm part of this world, I guess," I bit my lip thoughtfully.
"I saw your eyes," she said quietly. "They were silver,"
"I know"
"What- What are you?"
