'The power contained in her is one to be reckoned with. No one but herself can control the energy that flows through her veins. But he shall be her anchor'

I read the translation written right under a note written in another language. The book was as old inside as it was outside. There were pieces of information in English, but most of it was written in the same language as grandma's other books. I tried using a translator on the internet, but it didn't recognize the language.

There was a draw underneath the words. It was a basic sketch of a woman. She looked like one of those women from centuries ago, she wasn't really pretty but I suppose she was the epitome of one back then. Her face was soft, but hard at the same time with strong lines on her nose and jaw, her hair falling from her bun almost like it was framing her face graciously. Her eyes were cast down and her head was almost in a profile like position.

Who was she?

...

"She's what?!"

Stiles stared at the werewolves in skeptically. "A goddess? Like, a real goddess? I mean, she was always one to me but, seriously? A real mythical goddess? As in Olympus and Zeus?"

"I believe I just said this, didn't I?" Peter stared at him amused.

"Is this possible?" Scott asked in a calm voice trying to put everything together.

Instead of answering Scott, Peter turned to his nephew, "Derek, do you remember aunt Maggs? The one we saw sometimes with my sister and often brought us the prettiest flowers we had ever seen?"

Derek furrowed his eyebrows barely nodding his head, "Mom always told us she was a friend"

"Indeed, they were. But they were more than that, they were partners," The older werewolf turned to the teenagers before he walked towards the big window near them. "Both of them, together, protected this city. Who else would? Talia was a rare type of werewolf, she was a leader and Maggs, well, Maggs was nothing less than the protector of all of us. She was the descendant of the great goddess of the hunt after all"

"Is this one Atena?" Scott asked confused, trying to follow up with the story.

"Atena is the goddess of wisdom, the goddess of the hunt is Artemis," Stiles quickly explained,  "But how? How can Emily be her descendant if Artemis was the virgin goddess?"

"This story is only known by her family," Peter said looking out from the window and then turned back to the three men, "Or maybe another one" he tilted his head a little, watching the confusion spreading to them.

...

"Is it possible?" Chris asked one more time, impatiently.

After a night filled with dreams about his time as becoming a Hunter, Chris remembered the story about this kind of hunters and how they were the beginning of everything that followed on his family.
