Elektra's POV

I sigh once more at the conflicting emotions running through me as I decide to get out of bed. My body felt tired but not as weak as before so I had enough strength to stand on my own two feet and walk to the window.

The Sun had started to set in the horizon and the sky was now painted in shades of orange, yellows and purples. It was a beautiful sight as well as awfully relaxing so I stood there for a moment appreciating the view.

I could hear voices and orders being yelled downstairs, most likely the last preparations for the party were just about being finalised. I was happy to find that I had not missed the birthday party, though I had been confined to this room.

I want to go

Was the most common thought in my head. I knew I was weak but I could stand to the side and simply watch.

"Elektra?"

I turned around to see Luna Jasmine peek into the room, finding that I was not in bed where she specifically told me to stay.

"Over here." I called out.

I heard movement and in a few seconds Luna Jasmine was by my side, shaking her head in disapproval.

"You should be in bed."

"Couldn't rest any longer. I have been laying down for too long."

The Luna nodded her head in acknowledgment but her eyes showed apprehension and concern.

"How are things going for the party?"

"Very well. Only a few more decorations and we will be ready. We still have two hours before the first guests start arriving."

I nod absentmindedly.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes. It's just... I wanted to be downstairs with the others."

"You have just woken up."

"I know but maybe I could watch from a corner, sitting down, that way I won't tire myself out."

Maybe it was the sincerity and desperation in my voice that made her, though reluctantly, nod her head at my request.

"You will stay by my side the entire night where I can keep an eye on you. Are we clear?"

Her voice turned serious at the end, basically forcing me to agree. I did not mind as I had gotten permission to go to the party. I cared very little for the party itself but I desperately wanted to stay with the twins and Jake, and support Lex in the shadows.

I heard the Luna chuckle under her breath and as I turned her eyes held a hint of amusement.

"Your eyes just lit up like the Fourth of July." She shook her head at my reaction. "Come on, we need to get you ready for the party. You are staying seated but you can't very well go down in your pyjamas."

She laughed lightly and began to usher me towards the en suite bathroom.

"Shower first. I will lay down some clothes for you."

I didn't question her orders and simply walked into the shower, happy to get myself clean after two days in bed.

I lost track of time as I let the hot water wash away my worries and stress. My muscles relaxed and became less sore, making me feel lighter. I was not surprised to find that I had spent 40 minutes in the shower.
