Author's note: Hey guys, new chapter, sorry it's a bit delayed. Thank you to everyone reading and enjoy 😊
Elektra's POV
Who am I? Why don't I remember?
Those thoughts crossed my mind again and again after the memory I had witnessed. My memory but one I didn't remember as my own.
The story teller called me Elektra, it sounds familiar, but why can't I know for sure?
Jayd
Her name brings with it strong feelings, the strongest of all being love. I care for her but I don't know who she is.
Why can't I remember? Where am I? Why isn't there anyone here to help me?
An overwhelming sense of loss rushed over me, so strong in its intensity that it took my breath away and left me gasping for air. Before I had time to process what was happening, tears ran down my face, I grasped my chest in an attempt to stop the void now taking over my heart, I felt cold, the world around me was closing in and I couldn't breath.
Someone, please...help me
"Time to wake up little one."
My eyes suddenly snapped open, I don't even know when I closed them. I looked around, trying to pin point where that voice had come from but there was nothing there, only darkness as far as the eye could see.
Where are you?
"Come now little one, I brought breakfast for you. Wouldn't want to miss out on bacon and eggs, now would you?"
Even though I could not see her, I knew that she was smiling. Her voice sounded so calm, it made me feel safe. As I focused on the motherly presence that made itself known, I found my heartbeat return to normal, my breath was no longer ragged, my tears no longer ran down my face... I was calming down.
Who are you?
It was then that there was a sudden flash of light, I closed my eyes instinctively due to the sudden brightness. The sudden light hurt my eyes so I remained with them closed until the pain disappeared.
"Come now, if you don't wake up I'm afraid there won't be any breakfast left. Everyone here has a rather large appetite."
She laughed slowly. Per her orders I opened my eyes, I blinked once, twice and then a third time, trying to adjust to the sudden brightness in the room.
Someone close the curtain, the sun is too bright.
It was then that I stopped all movement and directed my now fully open eyes towards the window.
Window? Sun?
I looked around me. I was no longer in the void of darkness, I was now in a colourful room that seemed to vibrate with life due to its strong colours. The walls were painted red, there was a plasma TV on the wall, a desk to the side and a bookshelf filled to the brink with books ranging from Science Fiction to Romance. There were two doors, one I'm assuming lead to an ensuite bathroom and the other to the outside.
It was a few minutes before my attention turned to the woman in front of me.
Her smile was big and as bright as the sun, it reached her eyes and it made her look beautiful. She had long brown hair that fell in waves down her back, small wrinkles on the side of her eyes, indicating that she was someone that loved to laugh and did it often. She looked no older than 25 but her eyes held a wisdom that told me she was older than she appeared to be. Her eyes were the colour of melted caramel and a kindness resonated through them.
