"Elektra, ELEKTRA!"
I wake up with a jolt, my heart is racing at an alarming pace, I am gasping for air, struggling to breathe, my body is covered in sweat, the sheets clinging to me as I throw them off me, my ears still ringing with her voice...
I dreamed about her yet again, I don't know her name or even what she looks like, yet she is the only thing that occupies my mind 24/7. I groan out loud, my breathing was now steady, my heart beat going back to it's normal pace but my mind is wide awake, there is no way I'm going to be able to sleep.
I look to my clock to check the time only to see that it was barely 4 am, this was going be a long day for me. I decide to get up and head out to the balcony, I had a beautiful view from my room that was sure. From my balcony I could see the lake that stood not too far from the main house, it was a beautiful full moon, which was reflected in the water, healthy trees filled with green leaves made up the rest of my view. It was breathtaking!
It was peaceful, it made me feel calm, as if I had all the time in the world. I just stood there for god knows how long, just staring at the moon...until I heard a voice that had become familiar to me.
"Elektra"
I closed my eyes....there it was, the voice that has haunted my dreams for the past week, I have heard it so many times that it now echoes in my head reminding me of her so when I heard it yet again I thought nothing of it.
"Elektra" I opened my eyes in a flash as it registered that this was not a repeat of my dream. This was not an echo or a memory, it was her.
I was starting to get a headache, like the one at school a week ago. I closed my eyes tightly willing the headache away but it only got worse. It was getting harder to breathe, my heart rate increased and I was starting to shake.
Make it stop, make it stop
I wanted to scream, hoping someone would hear me and come help me but I had no strength, it wouldn't be long before I fainted.
"Don't fight it"
I focused on her voice, on her presence that I now felt stronger than ever as if she was standing next to me. My body stopped shaking, my breathing stabilised, my heart rate went back to its normal beating and the headache I had started to disappear, I was finally calming down.
I sat there still, with my eyes closed, afraid that if I opened them or moved everything would come back ten times worse. Minutes passed until she finally spoke up again.
"Open your eyes Elektra."
I was afraid to say the least, whenever she was there I had horrible side effects so I was reluctant to listen to her request. But her voice seemed to beckon me, sultry and calm, it made me melt inside, as cheesy as that sounds, I would go to hell and back to hear that voice again.
So after some debate I slowly opened my eyes only to be met with the same scenery as before: the moon still stood proudly in the sky, shining brightly across the forest, it's light bouncing off the water of the lake that sat just under it, everything was as calm as before.
"It's beautiful"
Despite the weird situation I found myself in, I smiled at the wonder and amazement in her voice, she sounded hypnotised by the beauty of the scene in front of me. It was then that I wondered how she was seeing the same thing I was. I frantically looked around, trying to make out whether there was someone else there with me but I was completely alone.
