Chapter 25

Elektra's POV

Talking to the Alpha posed more of a challenge then we considered. Despite our bruises and sore bodies, Jake and I managed to walk ourselves back to the pack house where he linked all the pack members, the Luna and Alpha included, and gave them a brief explanation of what happened after Lex left the room.

It's safe to assume that the party finished earlier than planned however none of the humans seemed to suspect anything. It had been four hours of partying which I'm sure they appreciated. Only compliments were heard as everyone said their goodbyes.

Jake and I were pulled straight to the hospital wing of the pack house and seen by Doctor John. Despite being thrown around like rag dolls by Ryder, we were fairly healthy so there was no point in keeping us at the hospital.

After being checked out we made our way to Alpha Derek so we could form a defence plan against the eminent threat.

"Where is Lex?"

Were the first words out of Jake's mouth when we reached the Alpha's office. His voice wavered when he spoke Lex's name and I was not sure if it was concern or pain from being, essentially, cheated on.

Alpha Derek looked towards him, and after a once over to make sure that we were alright, he answered. "He is with the twins and your friend, Aqua."

I was surprised that Aqua was still here considering it was close to eleven at night but I guess she was a little reluctant to leave her friends in a time of need. I knew that she was someone that we could trust and count on.

Perfect for Jason

"He is fine despite everything that has happened."

I could hear Jake swallow slowly before speaking. "Does he know?" There was fear in his voice.

Looking closely at his son, at his frightened face, he could do nothing more than shake his head.

A sigh of relief was heard. "That's good." His voice wavered once more and I knew that this time it was because he was remembering what he saw in the room.

"There will be time for that later. I need you to to tell me everything that happened in detail. It seems that we need to worry about more than just a shifter attack."

"Sorry Alpha."

Hoping to relieve Jake from some of his worries I decide to speak whilst he gets his thoughts in check.

"I am sure Lex has told you about what happened in the room so I will skip straight to our fight." Alpha Derek nods his head in confirmation. "Despite being injured, Ryder possessed a strength that far exceeded mine or Jake's."

A growl was heard from somewhere in my mind.

His power DOES NOT exceeded our own.

Ignoring the comment for now I proceeded to speak. I had come to terms with the fact that, like shifters, there was another being within me that possessed a conscious mind. Though a little difficult to get my head around, it did seem like she knew about the kind of magic we were dealing with.

I should really ask for her name. I can't keep calling her 'the voice in my head'

"His strength did not come from being a shifter, if it was then it was unlike anything I have ever dealt with."

"That is worrying. You are saying that both of you together could not handle him?"

As difficult as it was to admit. "Yes" Both Jake and I said in unison.
