Saving Us *Mate Astray*

Chapter 10

Lex was staring at me with an expression that was halfway between shocked and "holy shit, this bitch is crazy". It was quite funny to watch.

" School just started El. Not to mention the twin's and Jake's birthday is in 4 days. We can't just pack up and go."

" I love them and wouldn't event think about missing the day they meet their mates." Lex let out a sigh of relief. " The day after the party however I'm going to be on an airplane heading straight to the Silver Soul Pack."

" The Silver Soul Pack? Why them?"

" That is where I will find my mate." Lex stands frozen, his mouth hanging open, no movement whatsoever. After a minute or so his eyes soften slightly and a smile makes its way to his face. It was genuine but also a little smug, as if saying I told you so.

" Your mate huh?"

I roll my eyes at him. " Yes, my mate."

" I'm happy for you El I really am. You have been through so much, you deserve a mate that loves and cares for you."

This is why I love Lex, he can be the biggest diva in the world yet when he needs to be he is supportive and intuitive. He is an amazing friend. "Thanks Lex."

"Okay, if we are gonna do this we need a plan. We need to come up with a good enough excuse to take time off school, get plane tickets and money to take the trip and manage to get my parents permission and the Alpha's."

"So basically we have to lie through our teeth for the next few days." Lex nodded.

"Pretty much." I sighed. There was a lot that needed to be done, unfortunately I can't do much laying on this bed "I need to go back to my room."

"They won't let you leave that easily El."

" Call doctor John. With a little luck he will give me the green light to leave."

" I'm on it."

As I turns out it wasn't that hard to get me discharged. My body was bruised but there was no need to stay at the hospital as it healed so I'm back in my room.

On the way back to the pack house me and Lex spoke to Alpha Derek about the party and managed to figure out most of the details. The party was going to be hosted here at the pack house considering it is a mansion therefore plenty of space for a gathering.

Everyone in the pack is invited as well as humans. The twins and Jake have plenty of human friends from school so they are all invited as well as their parents.

"Okay so we have sent an invite to everyone at school, confirmed the catering for the party as well as the music..."

" We also managed to order the cake, alcohol for the grown ups and plenty of fizzy drinks for everyone else. The decorations will be here tomorrow as well as the new sound system." Lex finished for me. For half a days work it wasn't half bad.

"We have everything we need for the party, now it's just decorating the house, which we have to wait until the day to do."

"Hey El, is it alright if I bring a date to the party?" Lex asks rather shyly, his head down and his eyes looking at everything but me.

I was surprised. Not only was Lex in love with Jake but he was still in the closet. Bringing a date would imply that he is ready to come out which I'm not sure is a good idea to do at the birthday party.

" I thought..."

"Remember what we talked about when you woke up after your fight?" I nodded slowly, still shocked by the question. "Well this is my way of moving on."
