Elektra's POV

The enemies that surrounded us were long forgotten as we silently stared at one another. She was gorgeous  was I all I thought as I felt a sense of pride at the sheer beauty of my mate.

Her eyes were so expressive, they held a hint of every emotion I had ever seen on a shifter, ranging from love to adoration, happiness to pure joy and also a slight hint of apprehension.

I wonder what is making her apprehensive

Our mate is afraid of our reaction, most likely due to her betrayal

I had honestly forgotten, so infatuated I was with her presence. The memory brought down my mood and it was clear she had felt the shift in my emotions. She once again started walking towards me, only sparing a glance to the shifters that still trembled in fear and submission. When she was mere inches away from me she finally spoke however it was not directed at me.

"Take them."

Her voice was so smooth I could easily fall asleep listening to her speak. It was perfect.

How can a woman be this perfect?

She hurt us

I know

I sighed. It was true and no matter how much I wanted to forget, it had proved impossible so I made sure to keep myself busy instead. But now that she was here, standing in front of me with a fearful look on her face that did not match her demeanour, I knew it was time for a serious conversation.

It was only as I looked behind her that I noticed she had been speaking with a group of men and women that were currently capturing the enemy pack members.

I looked once more to the Goddess in front of me, only to notice that her hand was outstretched and she seemed to be waiting for something. My body was slightly bruised from yesterday and the pain that I was feeling, though reduced, still coursed my body so I would need help to stand.

Knowing I was only using it as an excuse to touch her, I slowly laid my hand on top of hers and squeezed. The moment we touched sparks flew through our joint hands and the pain in my body suddenly disappeared.

What the hell?

I got up too quickly and started to fall forward however before I could injure myself any further, Sarah put her arm around my waist to steady me.

"Easy there." Her voice on my ear made me shiver and I swear my body shuddered.

I hope she didn't feel that

I think rather embarrassed however it seemed she did not take notice as she simply continued to fuss over me.

"You have just been in a fight. You should not push your body."

I nodded, afraid that my voice would give away my internal turmoil. Before I could take a step forward I felt slim fingers push my chin upwards until I was staring into Sarah's hypnotising icy blue eyes.

"Are you alright?" Her thumb was slowly moving back and forth on my cheek and her breath hit my face every time she spoke.
