Elektra's POV
KILL HIM
It whispered, so softly, devilishly, as if it were my own idea and not the devil whispering in my ear. The monster within me wanted to be unleashed, to destroy the man that had tainted my mate, to show him who her mate truly was... I could feel it crawling just under the surface, hoping, waiting for me to lose focus so it could take control.
The world around me went on as usual yet all I could do was stare, rooted to the spot near the stairs whilst I watched, fighting to keep sane.
It wasn't stopping like it did before, it was still there, its power seeping from me like sweat as I fought image after image of what I could do to him to make him pay.
HE TOUCHED HER
The man in question had now moved and stood by Sarah's side, far too close to be seen as proper. The way he stood, the way he carried himself, it was as if he was Alpha already, as if he had any power besides the one that came with being a Delta.
TOO CLOSE
The monster growled. My temperature suddenly rose, my insides felt like they were on fire yet it felt warm, safe. The fire spread throughout my body, my eyes shifted, my fangs descended and the world became a blur except for the dead man that stood too close to my mate.
The monster moved and roared, growled and yelled in my head... it seemed like it had come straight from the depths of Hell, bringing with it the fires that tortured broken and evil souls. The fire within me intensified until it became painful, my breathing became erratic, my body shook and my head felt lighter.
I need to leave
HURT HIM
I looked at Simon once more, grinning whilst he stared at Sarah, who in turn only looked unsettled.
Bet she didn't look so disgusted when he was screwing her brains out
ENOUGH!
It didn't matter, I was gone. I could physically feel the anger coursing my veins, hot as fire and deep as lava. The monster stirred then, moving from the depths of my subconscious mind to the forefront with a window seat view. I could feel my strength increase, my bones braking, reshaping then moving back to their original place. My fangs pulsated in my mouth, begging to be used, begging for something unknown, something I craved.
Over the ringing in my head I could scarcely hear someone calling me from outside yet I could not pinpoint who it belonged to. Using that as an excuse to leave the house and create some distance between me and the object of my rage, I moved towards it.
The breeze outside did nothing to calm the fire that was consuming me, worse of all my head was becoming lighter by the second. Every fibre of my being told me that something bad would come to pass if I were to lose consciousness. I could not afford to pass out, knowing that if I did, I would be consumed by the monster lingering within me.
The voice calling me became louder, and I could distinctly discern it as being female however I still could not see who it belonged to. Following it into the forest, I moved slowly at first until the need to run became too much as I started in a sprint to release the tension in my bones. Running did very little to help my internal turmoil as the fire only grew stronger with every step I took.
LET ME OUT
My vision shifted once more and everything became sharper, clearer, allowing me to zero in and out of objects.
