Author's note: I know it's been a while but here is an update. Thank you to everyone that still reads my story 😊

Sarah's POV

Sarah had recovered quickly from the incident with her mate and now focused on getting her warriors ready to fight. She had many questions yet she was an Alpha first and foremost and her duties as such had priority. However it seemed that her wolf did not agree with me.

We need to go after our mate

We have responsibilities

She is in danger

She can take care of herself

I snapped at her. A growl echoed in my mind as her presence receded.

It was true. Though her mind was still in disarray she knew now that her mate was not human and that she appeared to possess a power that exceeded that of a shifter. Unfortunately with this revelation came the unsettling feeling that I had felt that power before, it was so familiar yet I could not pinpoint its origin.

If she was being completely honest with herself the viciousness with which Elektra had attacked her Delta and the destructiveness in the aura that surrounded her, reminded her of the time she had fought Victoria and a chill had run down her back.

They are not the same

I reassured myself.

Victoria is a monster, my mate is not

Snapping herself back to the present, she observed her warriors as they prepared themselves for battle. Alpha Derek had left not too long ago, leaving behind a large sum of his fighters in order to protect the pack members and keep enemies at bay in case they were to fail in the front lines. Following his example, I ordered my men to watch over our host pack and aid in any way possible.

As my pack finished preparations I thought it best to say a few words of encouragement.

"Listen."

My voice was powerful and immediately everyone stopped and stood at attention, their heads lowered as a sign of respect.

"We brought danger into this pack; the enemies at their borders are our enemies and they will stop at nothing to get to us. We will strike them down and eliminate every single one of them."

The energy in the room was palpable and each one of my warriors seemed excited for the hunt which brought a proud grin onto my face.

"Tear them to shreds. Victoria, however, is mine."

Each one answered promptly with a "Yes, Alpha" as I gave the sign to move out. Making my way outside, I shift into my snow coloured wolf and Silver is instantly at ease as both of us know that no one could defeat us in this form.

Growling loudly in an animalistic need to assert my dominance and power, I lead my pack onwards and into battle.

The forest is eerily quiet, no sign of life anywhere in sight and I wonder if the animals could feel the evil that was approaching, allowing themselves time to escape.

When we are approximately twenty minutes from our destination a powerful howl is heard, startling us with its intensity and despair. It appeared someone was grieving and I instantly assumed the worst. Ushering my men to move faster, the borders quickly came into view as well as a few dozen dead bodies.

They all appeared to be rogues and I released a sigh of relief. It was short lived as my eyes caught onto a scene that could only be described as heart wrenching. The Alpha's son, Jake I believe to be his name, is cradling another boy's body to his chest and crying unabashedly.
