Maria's PoV

Ru-kun told me that he was really sleepy so I let him rest his head on my lap…

The wind feels great… It was gently blowing in our direction…

The cherry blossoms were falling gracefully…

I opened the book and began to read…

Right at the prologue, I already understood that even if I went to the café, he wouldn’t be there…

He already knew…

The name of the boy in the story is Yuuta… He’s a freelance writer. He likes to write different novels—may it be romance, mystery, or gore. He usually writes mystery with a touch of gore in it, and was working on one when he met a girl through his brother’s party.

Yuuta was currently in love with someone else, but after chatting for a moment with the girl, he felt something for her.

‘“A girl, when hurt, can either be aggressive or quiet. But you know what…? The scariest is when the girl is quiet… It can make you feel guiltier because she was suffering inside, and she’s still smiling. So if you love someone, especially a girl who you know is rare to be found, never let her go and treasure her….”’

That was what the girl said.

Her name is Muimui, and she’s a conservatory student.

Eventually, they became close friends.

Yuuta asked her if he could interview her for his novel. She was surprised when he said he wanted to write a romance novel, for he is known to write mystery.

It turns out she’s a fan of him.

He tried different simulations on her for her reaction since he doesn’t understand girls…

After some time, he fell in love with her.

But his brother was in love with her as well.

But that didn’t stop him.

Every time they were together, he would swore that he’d make it memorable since she wasn’t always there with him.

Then one day, she came when he was asleep on the floor…

There, he confessed his love for her.

But he knew she loved his brother more than she loves him. He knew she loves the both of them, and was very confused. She ran, leaving him sad and lonely.

He was so depressed that he didn’t eat for weeks…

He couldn’t find the courage to see her even though he really wanted to.

One day, his brother told him to let her pick.

So they texted her. If she goes to the park, she picks his brother. If she goes to the café, she picks Yuuta.

Deep inside, he wanted to wait at the café, but at the same time, he knew she wouldn’t come running there.

‘“I was sure she wouldn’t pick me… I know she loves me too… But not as much as she likes him… So I sat down on the couch, looked out the window, and sipped my coffee…
