Unexpected // Why Don't We

Chapter 10

Hayden's pov

I watched the clock as it hit 12:00. I immediately clocked out and made sure everything was set up for the other workers. I finished and then grabbed my phone off the counter.

"Why are you in such a rush?" JC asked, leaning against the counter.

"I have a date," I told him.

"You? Going on a date?" he laughed. "Since when did you start dating again?"

"Since I found someone worth my time," I rolled my eyes and threw him the keys to lock up later tonight.

I walked to my car and started driving home. JC was super chill. We were good friends but didn't really hang out outside of work. Once I got home, I took a shower and threw my hair up in a messy bun. I put on a simple black bikini and threw on shorts and a t-shirt over it. My phone went off.

Me: See you soon :)

My phone went off multiple times. It wouldn't stop. Eben had tweeted and then messaged me. Jack and Zach had also messaged me.

@EbenOfficial : Miss you.

Eben was so caught up in them having to leave us. It was kinda cute. I actually missed him. He was so sweet, but he intimidated me. I opened Jack's message.

Jack: I wish I was still in Miami.

Me: Same. I miss you and the guys :(

Jack: We miss y'all, too. Dani is really missing Taylor. I think he has a thing for her.

Me: They'd be so cute together. I haven't seen Taylor this happy in a while.

That's when Daniel messaged me.

Daniel: Did I really make her happy?

Me: Yes, Daniel. She had been through a lot with depression and anxiety.

Daniel: Awww. I'm glad I was able to put a smile on her face.

Me: Me too, Daniel. Me too.
~

Then I went to Zach's message.

Zach: Hey, b.

Me: Did you really just call me "b"?

Zach: Yes, yes I did.

Me: Oh god ahahaha.

Zach: Is there a problem with that?

Me: Nope. Not at all.

Zach: Good, b.
~

Then there was a knock at the door. I turned my phone off and answered the door. It was Seth.

"Ready?" he smiled.

"Yeah. Let me grab my keys," I told him.

I jogged to my room and grabbed my keys off of my dresser. Then I walked back to the door.

"Now I'm ready," I laughed.

We got in his truck and were off to the beach. Once we got there, we walked around and got in the water for a while. It was a really chill day all around. It was nice going on a date again. Soon, the sun was setting. We walked along the beach holding hands until I stopped.

"Thanks," I smiled up at him.

"For what?" he asked.

"For this. I had a great time," I told him.

"Me too," He smiled back.

He leaned down and kissed me slowly. We walked back up to our towel gathered our things. I threw on my t-shirt and shorts while he rolled up the towel. We got back in his truck, and he drove me back home. Taylor's jeep was in the driveway. Seth walked me up to the front door.

"Thank you, again," I told him.

"Anytime," he smiled. "I really like hanging out with you."

"Goodnight, Seth," I told him.

"Goodnight, Hayden," he said and then kissed me.

I pulled back slowly. I smiled and then walked inside. Taylor was sitting on the couch. I walked over and plopped down next to her. She was smiling at her phone.

"Why are you so smiley?" I laughed.

"I'm texting Daniel," she replied.

"Awww," I squealed. "I ship you two so hard."

"Yeah, yeah. Now go take a shower. You stink," she laughed.

"Yes ma'am," I said before getting up and going to my room.

I took a shower and then threw on a gray t-shirt with black athletic shorts. I walked back into the living room and hung out with Taylor.

~2 months later (huge time skip sry)~
Seth and I still hadn't made anything official. I liked him, but if he didn't hurry up, I might give up on him. He was a great guy, but he's taking too long.

"Morning," I walked into the living room where Taylor was.

"Morning," she smiled.

I sat down on the couch, and my phone was buzzing. I picked it up, and I had notifications from Twitter.

@EbenOfficial : Soon.

What was up with him tweeting that? I checked my messages from the guys. Jack was first.

Jack: Haydennn.

Me: Jackkk.

Jack: Yay! You answered!

Me: Of course I did.

Jack: What are you doing right now?

Me: Nothing really.

Jack: Are you home?

Me: No. But I'm going home soon.

Jack: Oh, okay.

That was weird. Now to Daniel.

Daniel: Hey!

Me: Heyyy!

Daniel: How have you been?

Me: Pretty good. You?

Daniel: Amazing!

Me: Good, good. Talked to Taylor any?

Daniel: Obviously. Everyday.

Me: Cuties😫

Daniel: Hush, hush!

Me: Okay, okay... but I ship it!

I really was hoping Daniel and Taylor would get together soon. Every time I mentioned Daniel, Taylor would light up. I looked over at Taylor and smiled. She seemed so happy.

"Want to have a lazy day since we are both off?" I asked Taylor.

"Of course! Pretty Little Liars?" she grabbed the remote.

"Definitely," I nodded.

We watched Pretty Little Liars for a few hours. It was nice to have a day off with Taylor and just chill. We have both been really busy lately with work. This was nice.
