Hayden's pov
I got home from work and immediately took a shower because I was so sweaty. I had played outside most of the day with Ajax. I spent about an hour and thirty minutes in the shower just listening to my playlist. Then Strings by Shawn Mendes came on.
"All the strings attached, girl!" I yelled. "All the strings attached, girl, oh yeahhh!"
I cleared my throat.
"Met this girl when I was three or so, we were holding hands tight so I'm told, and it felt like an eternity, said it felt like an eternity, cause I knew back then we were more than friends, two sided story, it all depends, and say it once and I'll say it again, it'll only end up hurting me!" I rapped/sang. "Years flew by, I was less than twelve, long division I need your help, can you come on over and work with me, anytime you like I'll make it work for me, cause I knew back when if you get to close, when the time is right maybe I'll propose, baby climb on up show me the ropes!"
This song was my jam. I yelled the lyrics and danced around in the shower. I knew every single word to that song. This was a throwback song, too. It's been 3 years since he released the Handwritten album. Eventually, I got out of the shower and threw on a navy blue hoodie with black leggings. I put my hair in two french braids and went to the living room. I sat on the couch and just waited for Taylor to come home. It was around 7:30 when I decided to just cook dinner before she got back. I made salads just because it was the easiest thing to make. Taylor came home around 9:00.
"Hey," she said as she walked in.
"Hey. I made you a salad. It's in the fridge. You can add whatever else you want on it," I told her.
"Thanks, N," she smiled before walking to the kitchen and opening the fridge.
She came back in the living room and sat in a recliner to prop her feet up.
"How was work?" she asked as she ate her salad.
"Pretty good. I played with Ajax almost the whole day," I laughed.
"Just bring him home already," she joked.
"If we had the money, I would," I shrugged.
"Maybe after I go on tour," she raised her eyebrows.
"I don't know. We have busy schedules. Would we even have time to keep a dog?" I asked.
"You could take him to work with you and let him run around with the other dogs, and I'll take care of him when I get home," she said.
"I don't know," I rubbed the back of my neck. "I just want the best for him, and if that's not here, then it is what it is."
"We'll figure it out. I promise," she told me.
I nodded. She finished eating her salad and then did the dishes.
"It's so empty without the guys here," she said from the kitchen.
"I know right. I actually miss them a lot," I laughed slightly.
"They'll be back," she reassured me.
"It's crazy how you were head over heels for them, but now that we are their friends, you aren't as crazy over them," I said
"Yeah, I don't know. I liked them for their voices before I met them. Now that I know them, there's even more to like. Before it was a fan to band relationship, and now it's more person to person," she explained. "It's different."
"They're cool," I admitted. "I'm really glad we met them."
"Yeah," she smiled. "Well, I'm going to go take a shower. I'll be out in a little bit."
"Okay," I said as she walked to her room.
I put Glee on the tv and watches that until Taylor came back. We finished season 1 for the hundredth time. Glee was one of our favorite shows on Netflix ever. Once season 1 finished, I turned the tv off so we could talk.
"Anymore details on the tour?" I asked Taylor.
"I'll be back in early November, and I will be given chances to fly back home for a few days to see you and check up on everything," she said.
"Any word on how much they're paying?" I raised an eyebrow.
I was more worried about our income. We were really low on money since she has been struggling to find a job that works with her dance schedule.
"We get paid by the show and there's 140 shows on the tour," she said.
I nodded, understandingly.
"I still can't believe I'm going on tour with Justin Bieber," she covered her face with her hands.
"What if he tries to make a move on you?" I smirked.
"He's too hot for me. I'm ugly," she laughed.
"Shut up. We both know that's a lie," I shook my head and laughed.
My phone buzzed. I picked it up off the table and looked at it. It was a text from Jack. Oh, yea. We had exchanged numbers before they had left.
~
Jack: Can we just come back already?Me: No. You have to finish your tour!
Jack: Please?
Me: Nope. Not yet.
Jack: Soon?
Me: Soon.
Jack: Promise?
Me: Promise.
~"Who are you texting that's making you smile at your phone?" Taylor asked.
"Jack," I looked up at her.
"Oooooo," she smirked.
"Shut up," I laughed.
~
Jack: You're a bum.Me: So are you.
Jack: We can be bums together!
Me: Sounds like a good idea.
Jack: Definitely. I gotta go, though. Text me tomorrow?
Me: Of course. Goodnight.
Jack: Goodnight.
~I set my phone back down on the table. Taylor was looking at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing," she smirked.
"What?!" I yelled while laughing.
"You're totally into Jack," she said.
"Am not," I folded my arms.
"Yeah, okay. You should've seen your face when you were texting him," she smiled.
"Shut up," I whined.
"Okay, okay. I'm going to bed," she laughed before getting up. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight," I laughed as I got up to go to my room.
