Taylor's pov
I waited for Hayden to start talking.
"I had to stay late at the humane society because I was late this morning, plus we were short on staff today," she started. "When I got off-"
"Hold on," I cut her off. "Why are your lips so swollen?"
That's when I felt like I got hit with a brick. I was so stupid.
"Let me get to that," she said slowly.
I raised an eyebrow.
"After I got off work, Seth called," she continued. "He invited me to go get some dinner, and then we went back to his place."
"I don't wanna know," I held my hand up, signaling for her to pause.
"We didn't do that! Are you crazy?" she blushed.
"Whatever you say," I shrugged.
"So we're cool?" she asked.
"Yeah, I was just worried. Tell me next time," I laughed.
"Yeah, yeah. I know. My phone was dead," she explained.
"You could've called me from Seth's phone," I pointed out.
"Oh. I didn't think about that," she bit her lip.
"It's fine," I smiled.
"Okay. Good," she laughed.
We walked out of my room.
"I'm going to grab a water, and then I'm going to sleep," I told her.
"I'm going to take a shower, and then I'm going to sleep as well," she said.
"See you in the morning," I smiled. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight," she said back before going into her room and shutting the door.
I walked into the living room, and all the guys were asleep except for Daniel. He was looking at his phone, so I just went to the kitchen and grabbed a water. I turned around to walk back to my room, but Daniel was standing in front of me. I gasped.
"Daniel, don't do that," I whispered since I didn't want to wake the other guys up.
"It's okay," he smiled as grabbed my hand.
I was blushing, but he wouldn't be able to tell because the kitchen lights were off. The only light was from a small lamp in the living room.
"I told you everything would be okay," he said.
"I know. It's just... she's my best friend, and if I lost her, I don't know what I'd do," he explained.
"Yeah, I understand," he nodded.
I realized he was still holding my hand. I looked down at our hands and back up at him. He slowly moved his focus down to my lips and then back up to my eyes. He started to lean in. Our lips were about to touch, but then I heard Hayden's door open. We both backed away. He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Goodnight, Daniel," I said quickly.
"Goodnight," he said back, trying to act like nothing had happened.
He walked back to the couch, and I walked to my room. Hayden didn't seem to notice that we were acting a little weird. I opened my water as I stood in the doorway of my room. Hayden came back and smiled before going back into her room and shutting the door. I took a sip of my water and sighed. I walked back into my room and shut the door. I crawled into bed and turned on my tv. I turned on Netflix and started watching Glee, which was possibly the best show ever made. I ended up falling asleep a few minutes after I had turned it on.
*next morning*
I woke up earlier than usual, which was odd since I didn't get to sleep until late last night... technically, early this morning. It was only 6:00. I threw on some pink Nike athletic shorts and a white t-shirt. I only put on mascara and did my eyebrows. I slipped on my running shoes before going to the kitchen. I threw my hair up in a messy bun as I walked into the kitchen. I quickly ate a protein bar before I went back to my room to brush my teeth. Then I put in my bluetooth headphones and grabbed my phone. Everyone else was still asleep, so I just left without saying anything. I went for a run around the neighborhood, which was about 2 or 3 miles. It was actually kind of chilly outside, so I didn't really sweat. By the time I got back, it was around 6:30. Still, no one was awake. I took a shower and just threw on the same clothes I had ran in. Surprisingly, they didn't stink. I blow dried my hair and threw it back up in a messy bun. Then I touched up on my mascara and fixed my eyebrows. I decided to just go to the studio early. It was only 7:00. Hayden should be awake by now. I walked out to the living room, and Daniel and Zach were awake."I'm heading out early," I held up a peace sign. "Tell Hayden I left early."
"We will," Zach said.
I got in my jeep and drove straight to the dance studio. Jacob had just opened the doors and walked inside right as I pulled into the parking lot. I got out of my jeep and walked inside.
"You're early," Jacob turned around to look at me.
"Yeah. I just figured I'd get some more practice in," I shrugged.
"Of course," he nodded and opened the door for me.
"Thanks," I smiled as I walked into the main practice room.
