Hayden's pov
The guys didn't want to go anywhere because they knew if they did, they'd be bombarded by fans. We were all sitting around the living room again. Taylor in Daniel's lap as always. Everyone where they usually sat.
"Your house is really cozy," Corbyn said randomly.
"Yeah, it's like an apartment almost," Jack added.
"Well, it basically is, except we don't pay rent. We pay actual bills and stuff," Taylor said.
"It's definitely the size of an apartment," I laughed.
"Yeah, not the biggest house on the market," Taylor agreed.
"I like it," Jonah shrugged and looked at me.
"Really?" I looked at him.
He nodded and smiled. UGH! HE WAS SO CUTE! I had to tell myself to keep my cool. Taylor snapped me back to reality.
"Hayden?" Taylor said again.
"Huh?" I looked at her.
"Corbyn was trying to ask you something," she laughed.
"Oh, sorry," I told him.
"It's okay. So, how long have you worked at the humane society?" he asked.
"Eight months," I answered. "I love it there."
"Because you get to play with dogs all day?" he laughed.
"Yeah. That's a major plus," I nodded.
"Do you get paid to dance, Taylor?" Zach asked her.
"Only if I get invited to teach a dance class for the younger kids. I've been trying to find a job that doesn't interfere with dance, but it's hard because they'll call night practices randomly," she explained.
"Ohhh," Zach said.
"Maybe she'll get invited to be a backup dancer for a famous singer," I shrugged. "She's an amazing dancer. Maybe Justin Bieber will invite her on tour with him."
"Not to mention they get paid a good amount of money," she added. "We could pay our bills for the rest of our lives if I went on tour with him."
"How much do you usually get for your artworks?" Jack asked me.
"Only a couple hundred," I shrugged. "Maybe enough to pay one bill. If I'm lucky, sometimes enough to pay two."
"Where do you usually paint and stuff?" Daniel asked.
"It's all in my room. We don't have an extra room, so I just decided it'd be easier to put it in mine," I told him.
"Ahh," Corbyn said.
"Do y'all really not have boyfriends?" Eben blurted.
"Yes, really," Taylor and I laughed at the same time.
"Good because she's mine," Daniel wrapped his arms around Taylor's waist and pulled her closer to him.
"Ugh! Just date already," I begged.
"You two would actually be really cute," Jack said honestly.
Daniel and Taylor both started blushing. I loved them together.
"You know who'd be cute together?" Zach blurted.
"Who?" everyone asked in unison.
"Hayden and I," he looked at me, obviously joking.
"Zach, I'm flattered, but you're seventeen. That'd be illegal," I told him.
Everyone laughed.
"Wait for me," he winked.
"At lot happens in one year," I said. "I could get tired of waiting."
"Zach, she doesn't want you," Jack laughed.
"I can tell she does," he looked at me and bit his lip.
"I am not getting arrested!" I yelled.
Everyone laughed again.
"Just wait. Next year, you'll want me," he reassured me.
"Yeah, okay. Whatever you say," I told him.
We talked some more, but soon we were ready for lunch. We ended up making pizza rolls because they didn't want to go out. Once we finished eating, everyone went back to the living room except for me. I stayed in the kitchen to do the dishes. I was rinsing off the plates when someone walked up beside me.
"Let me help you," he said as he picked up a plate and rinsed it off.
After that, he helped me but them in the dishwasher then we washed our hands. It was ten times easier when someone was helping you. It would've been easier if we hadn't of run out of paper plates, though. Taylor and I are too lazy to do dishes normally, so we use up paper plates like crazy.
"Hayden? Jonah?" Corbyn called.
"What?" I turned around to look into the living room.
"What are y'all doing?" he asked.
"We just finished doing the dishes," I answered.
"Oh," he said.
"Yeah, thanks for the help guys. I really appreciate it," I told them sarcastically.
"You're welcome," Jack gave an innocent smile.
I rolled my eyes and turned to Jonah.
"Thanks for helping," I said sincerely.
"No problem," he smiled.
We went back to the living room with the guys and Taylor. Taylor was still sitting in Daniel's lap. It was like her permanent spot now.
"Daniel," I whined. "Stop hogging my best friend! She's mine!"
I ran up to them and picked up Taylor, carrying her over to my spot.
"Hey," Daniel pouted.
"She was mine first," I said.
"But, Hayden," Taylor fake cried. "He's the only guy that'll talk to me."
"Okay, I see how it is," Corbyn folded his arms.
"No, not like that," Taylor laughed.
"I know," Corbyn winked at her.
"Hayden," Taylor put a hand on my shoulder. "I still love you, but can I go back to Daniel?"
"My best friend is growing up," I wiped a nonexistent tear from my face.
"Oh, hush," she laughed before getting up and going back to sit with Daniel again.
This is why I loved hanging out with the guys. They were so chill and fun to talk to. They weren't your average guys. They were so much better than average teenage boys.
