Hayden's pov

The next morning, I woke up to a few voices talking. It was a struggle to finally open my eyes. I was still cuddled up next to Jonah, who was still asleep. Corbyn and Taylor were talking about who knows what. They noticed that I had woken up.

"Morning," Corbyn smiled.

"Morning," I said back, sleepily.

I leaned my head back on Jonah's shoulder before closing my eyes again. It only felt like a few seconds, but it was about 10 minutes later when I woke up again. Now Zach and Daniel were awake. Zach was going to take a shower in Taylor's bathroom, and Corbyn went to take a shower in my bathroom. I closed my eyes for a few more minutes. I opened my eyes, and everyone else had left except for Jonah. He was still sleeping, and it was so cute. I looked up at him, and he opened his eyes.

"Where'd everyone else go?" he asked in his morning voice.

"Good question. I really don't know," I yawned.

"I just want to go back to sleep," he smiled.

"Same," I agreed.

He laid down on the couch, and I laid down next to him. I almost fell off, but he wrapped his arm around my waist before I fell.

"Thanks," I laughed.

"No problem," he smiled.

We both closed our eyes and went back to sleep. I didn't even care what time it was. It's not like I had to be at work or anything.

*an hour later*
"Hayden," I heard Taylor's voice.

I slowly opened my eyes and saw her standing in front of me.

"What?" I looked up at her.

"You've been asleep all day. Wake up," she told me. "You too, Jonah."

We stayed still for a few more seconds before both of us sat up. All of the other guys were staring at us.

"When did y'all even get here?" I asked them as I rubbed my eyes.

"A few minutes ago," Zach answered.

"Where did you go?" Jonah questioned.

"You two wouldn't wake up, so we went to the mall and grabbed some lunch," Corbyn replied.

"Did you bring me food?" I asked Taylor.

"It's on the table," she laughed.

"Yes!" I jumped off the couch and ran to the kitchen.

"We brought you some as well, Jonah," Taylor told him.

"Thanks," he said before walking to the kitchen and sitting down next to me.

Jonah and I didn't really talk because we were still tired. Everyone else sat in the living room. After I ate, I went to my room to change into a burgundy t-shirt and white shorts. I went to the bathroom and put on my usually makeup: foundation, concealer, powder, mascara, and eyebrows. Then I brushed my teeth. I brushed my hair out and flipped it around until I liked how it looked. Finally, I walked back into the living room.

"About time you get dressed," Taylor joked.

"Yeah, yeah. I was tired," I laughed.

A few seconds later, Jonah walked out of Taylor's room. I guess that he had taken a shower since his hair was a little damp. He sat down on the couch where he had sat last night.

"Why did you two sleep so late?" Jack asked Jonah and I.

"Umm, I don't know," Jonah shrugged. "It's not that big of a deal."

"Yeah. Just tired. That's all," I reassured them.

"We weren't going to leave you two here by yourselves, but no one wanted to volunteer to stay behind," Eben laughed.

"Oh well. It was fine," I said. "All we did was sleep."

There was an uneasy tension in the room for some reason, and I couldn't figure out why. It was driving me insane. Eventually, I realized that it was Jack. He seemed jealous almost.

"Well, you guys had your fun. I have to go to the Humane Society for a little bit. I'm going to check on Ajax," I announced.

I grabbed my keys and walked out of the house. I drove to work and immediately walked inside. JC was sitting at the front desk.

"You're supposed to be off today," he groaned. "Ajax is fine. This is your day off, so go back home."

"I just want to see him for a few minutes," I begged.

He rolled his eyes and tossed me a leash for him.

"Thanks, JC. You're the best," I winked before jogging to the dog kennels.

I saw Ajax laying on his dog bed and smiled. I unlocked the door and walked in. I shut the door behind me, and he walked up to me.

"Hey, buddy," I picked him up.

He was getting bigger everyday. He was starting to get too heavy for me to pick him up.

"You're going to be too big for me to hold you," I told him.

He licked my face. I worked on the tricks that I had been teaching him. Now he knows how to sit, lay down, speak, and shake.

"Take him home already," I heard Madison's voice.

"One day," I smiled as I turned to look at her.

"You're not supposed to be here today. This is your day off," she sighed.

"Yeah, but I wanted to see Ajax," I explained.

"Take him home for the day. You shouldn't be at work when it's your day off," she told me. "Bring him back tomorrow."

"Really?" I asked her.

"Yeah. He's basically your dog anyway," she laughed before walking away.

I put Ajax on a leash and grabbed some dog food and bowls. I also grabbed some a tennis ball. I walked back to the lobby, and JC looked surprised.

"Are you finally adopting him?" he smiled.

"No. Just taking him home for the day. Madison insisted since it's my day off," I told him. "I have to bring him back tomorrow."

"One day you're going to adopt him," JC shook his head.

I walked to my car and set Ajax in the passenger seat. I hopped in the driver seat, and we were on our way home.
