Chapter 59: Blood trail within the leaves

Summer has passed again and the leaves on the trees have started to turn colors and fall off the branches meaning I will have to find a new place to hide if we get trespassers or other people that just want to turn me in for money. Some of the others seem worried and I always wondered why that was I mean some of our hiding spots are being taken from mother nature but yet both morning and night shifts are worried. The morning shift I could understand since they would be out in the open but on the night shift we would have a bit of cover because of the dark and most people already have it in their heads that going to the woods at night isn't a good idea anymore. Mostly because I kept on sending dead bodies as a message of "keep out" Masky said, "hey are you okay?" I looked over at Masky and seemed worried about me I said: "yeah I'm fine Masky just staring off into space is all". I walked outside to get some fresh air and I hear Smile dog walk up behind me I patted Smile dog's head I said "sorry boy you can't follow me this time" I opened up my wings and I flew up into the sky. Once I was up in the sky I could try to clear my head since I was also worried not because of the leaves coming off the trees but mostly because of the markings all over my body. If my marks decide to glow while I'm out scouting the area they will know where I am and try to either kill me or bring me in to be killed flew closer to the trees while somehow managing to land in one. I sat there for I don't know how long but I started to feel the pain in my head that I haven't felt in a long time I knew that it couldn't be my powers since I have been keeping them in check almost every morning be for I have to do night shift. There could only be one reason that my head would be acting like this and that would be Nick must be nearby but doesn't know that I'm in the area at least not yet anyway. I decided to leave the area before Nick could find me so he couldn't attempt anything the pain in my head was still there once I left the area Nick was in, I leaned on a tree so I could see if I could stop the pain. After what seemed like an hour the pain in my head subsided and I started to head back to the mansion without even knowing what happened within that hour. I heard Masky and Hoodie calling out for me seeing that they are still probably worried about me Hoodie happens to see me but covered in blood Hoodie said: "hey uh Masky". Masky happens to turn around to see what Hoodie sees and to the sight Masky is looking at is my wings covered in blood as well as every part of me and looks behind me to see a trail pool of blood. Masky saw that I was about to collapse and instructed Hoodie to catch me I still didn't know what was going on but I did feel something soft and warm I could hear some of them talking but didn't know about what. Jeff said, "you're saying it happened again?!" Jeff looked at Masky with a concerned look Maksy said, "wait what do you mean this happened again? you mean to tell me this isn't the first time this has happened, Jeff". Eyeless Jack said "when me and Jeff found her she was more aware that she was killing something but didn't know what she was killing," Jeff said, "that and she never passed out nor tried to collapse".
