Chapter 10- Lillie's Egg\ First Recon Battle

A\N I know some of you have been waiting a while for this next chapter, I apologize. Its the end of the semester and I'm trying to get school work done. But come the summer time, I'll have nothing better to do than write lol

Your POV

Exiting the Jungle, the new objective was to get this medicine back to Kiawe. By the time you were back on route 8, your flustered state was now gone. Thank goodness. Before the entering the tunnel, you encountered familiar faces. Two members of the Ultra Recon Squad. But it wasn't Zossie or Dulse. You did recall seeing two others before. They approached the three of you, "The champion", the older man said "I'm terribly sorry we could not meet earlier at the Paniola ranch. I am Captain Phyco" he introduced. His partner, a woman with blue medium length hair introduced herself, "And I am Soliera. Nice to meet you champion" she said. These two seem to hold themselves with more respect and dignity, while the others were more young and rebellious. "I'm Hau the champion's best friend. This is Gladion, her\his boyfriend" Hau blurted out excited. So much for that. Phyco stroked his mustache, "Ah so I see" he paused "say now that I see you up close, I'd say you have some sort of aura like that of the totems. Don't you agree Soliera?" he asked her. She nodded, "Indeed. Do you perhaps know much of the Z crystals? That wonderful light.... We had something similar back in our world" she seemed to disappear in her thoughts. There was a lot of mystery to them. What was their world like? Especially if they say it can be compare to that of a Z crystal. "My apologies" Soliera said coming back to reality "If you wouldn't mind Champion, I would like to battle you. It will benefit the Recon Squad in terms of researching the valuable relationship between Pokemon and mankind" she offered. You'd loved to battle. But now wasn't the time. "I'm sorry but I'm on an important errand right now", you declined. The two members glanced at each other. "It's no problem at all. I'm sure we'll run into each other soon. We will be here on route 8 for some time. So if you're still around, please come find us" Phyco told you. You would take that to consideration. But you'll probably not be back down until tomorrow. Phyco and Soliera eventually dismissed themselves and continued to pass down route 8.

Back at the bottom of the Wela Volcano, you honestly did not want to climb this thing again. Even Hau wasn't too excited. "Why can't we just fly to the top?" he pondered. That would make the trip much easier. "Excuse me folks. Looking for a ride up the volcano?" a man asked. The three of you turned around and saw a man riding a carriage hitched to a pair of Mudsdales. The carriage stopped. "You can give us a ride?" Hau asked his excitement returning. The man nodded, "Of course. I got some supplies that need to be delivered to Kiawe for the trial site. Don't worry about my Mudsdales, pulling you three along won't be much of an effort" he said. It was like a gift from the sun and moon. You and Hau jumped on the carriage quicker than a Pikachu using Quick Attack. You were so grateful. Gladion got on and sat next to you. "Everybody on?" the man asked checking. "Yes sir", Hau smiled. The man nodded and ordered his Pokemon to get moving.

The ride up the Wela Volcano was certainly better than walking. Hau was having a good time talking with the driver. Hau could honestly get along with anybody. He certainly did when he met Gladion. Although, Gladion wasn't very welcoming to him or you. But now, all that has changed. You grabbed his hand and held it with a smile on your face. He was yours. And always will be. Gladion interlaced his fingers with yours instantly. Comfortable with the action. It made you smile even more. You rested his head on his shoulder and enjoyed the ride.

Finally, you reached the top of the volcano. The three of you thanked the man for the ride and headed first thing to the cabin. "You three are back already. Very good", Olivia greeted. You handed her the medicine, "We couldn't afford to be slow when Marowak is sick" you told her. Kahuna Olivia took the small pouch from you and gave the medicine to the sick Pokemon. "Here Maraowak" she offered. The Pokemon took the medicine without hesitation. "I'm glad to see you guys made it back here as quick as you did. I'm sure it was a long walk" Lillie said. "It was but we made it" you told her. Wiggle Wiggle Lillie's egg started moving uncontrollably, causing her to stumble. Lillie set the egg comfortably down on the floor. "I think it's going to hatch" she said. We all gathered around it and watched the egg closely. Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle CRACK! "Here it comes" Hau said excited. The egg hatched opened revealing a small fire orange Pokemon. The creature looked up at Lillie and cried. "Oh dear. I never thought I'd see a Kanto Pokemon before" Olivia commented. Lillie looked at her new Pokemon, "So it's a Kanto Vulpix?" she questioned. Olivia pat the Vulpix, "Mhmm. In Kanto the Vulpix are fire type, unlike here n Alola where they are ice types" she explained. You were happy to have another Kanto Pokemon as a friend. "At least Vulpix won't be the only Pokemon from Kanto" you realized. Lillie smiled, "Oh that's right. You have Kanto Pokemon too" she said. Making the trek to get the medicine was certainly worth it, now that you got to see Lillie's Vulpix hatch. With all the excitement for the newly hatched Pokemon, you stayed the rest of the day up on the volcano. Lillie fell in love with her Vulpix and Vulpix adored her too, it was too adorable for words.

The next morning, for the final time, it was time to make it back down the volcano and back to town. The plan still was to ask all the kahunas so, next stop was Ula Ula Island. Even if Kahuna Nanu wasn't exactly the most exciting person to talk to. "Before we go to the next island, can I suggest we go somewhere?" Hau asked suddenly. You weren't in a rush anyways. "Sure Hau. What did you have in mind?" you were opened to suggestions. "We should go back to Hano beach, just like last time" he said. The beach. It certainly has been awhile. You smiled as the memories came flooding in. It couldn't hurt for another fun beach day. "I like the idea" you agreed. "The beach sounds lovely. I haven't been in some time", Lillie chimed in. At this moment it was three against one. You all looked at Gladion for his opinion. "You all don't have to stare me down. I'm going either way" he said. Then it's settled. "Well let's get a move on to Hano beach" you suggested.

Reaching the bottom of the Wela Volcano, you managed to run back into the recon squad. Phyco and Soliera did mention they would be around. "Champion and friends, I did not think we'd run to each other again so soon. What a coincidence" Phyco greeted giving you their unusual hand gestured greeting. Certainly a coincidence. "If it's not too much to ask, how about we engage in a battle? If you are free to do so" Soliera mentioned. You did kinda say you would battle the next time you meant. This shouldn't take too long. "Go for it (Y\N)! This got to be exciting" Hau encouraged. No backing out now. "I accept" you told her. Soliera smiled, "I appreciate this champion" she said. You all made room for the battle. You agreed to a one on one battle. Is she going to use a Pokemon too? Or perhaps they have some sort of creature from their land. If they are truly from ultra-space. You debated on which Pokemon you should battle with. You wanted to use Bulbasaur but you didn't exactly know what you'd be dealing with, so sorry buddy. Maybe next time. It wouldn't hurt to have a strong defense, Mudsdale will do. You called out your Pokemon for battle. Mudsdale stood at the ready. "That's quite the partner you have. I've never seen such a Pokemon before. I can't wait to see how this battle goes. Come on out Poipole!" Soliera called out. Her partner was a small floating purple creature. What was that? "This is Poilpole. It's a type of ultra-beast that comes from our home" Soliera explained. An ultra-beast! Good thing you called out Mudsdale for this. This battle could potentially be hard. Ok. Keep your cool. This thing has a weakness just like Pokemon do. But you weren't going to underestimate this small ultra-beast.

"I'll make the first move! Poipole use Nasty Plot!" Soliera commanded. So the way of battle is similar to how Pokemon battle. Or she is just adjusting to a similar way. Poilpole daydreamed of a nasty plot, raising it special attack. If this thing has a water or grass type move, then Mudsdale could be in trouble. "Mudsdale use Stomp!" you cried. There's no time to waste if that thing was going to raise its attack power. Mudsdale rushed towards your opponent. "Quickly Poipole use Poison Jab!" Soliera countered. The Poipole swung at Mudsdale with its attack and landed. The move wasn't very effective and Mudsdale was still able to land a Stomp in return. "That didn't stop your Mudsdale or poison it. I wonder why?" you heard Soliera ponder. She really doesn't know much about Pokemon battles, so this really was more of an experiment. But now that you were aware that this thing was probably a poison type, you had the advantage. "Mudsdale is a ground type Pokemon. Poison moves don't effect it" you explained to her. You may have been giving her vital information, but she really did seem like she didn't know much. Soliera nodded, "I see so types can have advantages and disadvantages. Very interesting. This certainly will be helpful for future uses" she said. It was weird to see people doing this all for the sake of research. But not everyone know how to battle. (Some of you might want to see the rest of the battle but it's kinda a one sided win for you. The only problem would be trying to land a hit on Poipole's small size. So my apologies if you're bummed out. If you'd like for me to add the rest of the battle please let me know)

The battle soon ended with you as the victor. Sadly, this Poipole only seemed to know poison type moves and for some reason, you felt like this was more a baby form. It was defiantly interesting to battle against an ultra-beast. Well battle a tamed one.
